New Wheels and Tires

So I just stopped at the local Les Schwab and didnt have much luck.

I would like to run a 17 x 9 with 275/40's I may be way off but I was under the impression I could run the C6 style wheel, according to the counter guy they cant get one with the right offset. The only way I could do those was with wheel spacers.

Does anyone know a wheel size including the offset that'll work on the 1993 Ty?

Will the 275/40/17's work?

Is there a C6 wheel that is known to fit?

That's how most C4/C5/C6 wheels end up getting fit. My ZR1s are 18"s, and I have a spacer in the rear... Schwab hated it, but they accepted that was the only way it was going to work.

So theres no spacer up front?

Any Idea what size spacers I'm going to have to run?

Re: New Wheels and Tires

I have aftermarket ET C-5 Corvette wheels on my Typhoon. ( see avatar)
They are 17" x 9.5 "front and rear.
Tires are 275 / 40 r 17.
The fronts (inside rim edge / bead) rubs on the upper A-arm under hard turns.

The wheel studs aren't long enough to add even a 1/4" spacer and be safe.

Are the 1" spacers you are talking about actually adapters bolted to the original studs with a new set of studs 1" further out.

Re: New Wheels and Tires

I'm curious about the spacer in the back as well, are you running with the stock studs?

Re: New Wheels and Tires

I've had skullet billet spacers/adapters on my truck for years with zero issues. They were expensive so don't know quality wise if the cheaper knockoffs on eBay are just as good.

Re: New Wheels and Tires

Most spacers mentioned on this site will be adapters and not euro style spacers. Euro cars can get away with spacers since the lug and stud are one piece.

Re: New Wheels and Tires

No spacers with the ET C-5 rims,
I am talking about a spacer ring over the studs 1/4" or 1/2" thick which shortens the stud length to an unsafe length.
1/4" eats up almost half the threads on a regular stock stud.

SEE ABOVE ADAPTER BOLTS TO ORIGINAL STUDS,
AND PROVIDES 5 NEW STUDS 1" FURTHER OUT.

Adapters is the way to go or possibly change out all the studs for longer ones.

Something no one has mentioned here is changing the stud pattern from 4.75" /120.7mm
to 115mm or 110mm allowing a set of Cobalt ss 18" Hypersilver rims to be mounted.
You just buy an adapter that CHANGES your bolt PATTERN from one to the other.

Very cool rims
