its 1000 miles from central PA....so from NY prolly 1300 miles, more from upstate. Yahoo claims 15hrs...but i'm banking on 13.5 personally.

Don...you should def. come. What about Jeff? Or does he not have his rig back yet. I'd love to roll in a pack of Tys from the NE. It'd be a new occurance for me since i never see these trucks except for in NJ and KS. :eyes:

Yeah my truck is back and running ok Mike. It is in the body shop right now since I smacked a deer last week. I am seriously considering going.

Re: Northeast Caravan

so I just got some really good news..

my boss is going to let me borrow his yukon XL with the 8.1L motor, so aside from getting 8-10mpg while towing the typhoon and not actually having a trailer to tow it with yet, everything is looking good..

anyone need a ride and want to pitch in on gas money? :D

will it seat that many + luggage + parts + tools + cooler(s)

sure, there is a typhoon for storage as well :D

the real question is, will we all kill each other or not, and honestly since its my boss's truck i'm not sure if i'd trust renz or morgan driving it

Re: Northeast Caravan

I can understand not trusting Renz....... but me?? c'mon, I trailer shit at high speeds all the time ;)

4 people in a Yukon isnt bad, as long as we can put luggage in the Ty like you said..... its something to think about anyway....

I hope its has a decent sized tank, so we aren't waiting for gas stop every 200 miles.

he tows with it all the time drives to canada to snow mobile and stuff, I have to assume he bought it for that reason so it probably has a pretty big tank.

I think Dad was figuring on $1000 round trip in the 5.3L Tahoe. I'll double-check with him how much we went through last year, I think we avg'd around 8mpg towing. I guess it depends on what gas prices do - hopefully after Labor Day they'll drop a little.

google maps says its roughly 1,260mi each way

so
1,260mi/8mpg= 157.5 x $3.00 per gallon = $472.5 one way x 2 = $945 in gas

yeah closer to $1000, that is if I get 8mpg, I'm obviously hoping for a little bit better gas milage.

so who wants to ride along and chip in?! anyone? bueller? bueller?

Re: Northeast Caravan

If I can manage to get 10 to 12 miles per gallon, the price comes down closer to $600

Damn that is a lot of gas, that makes thes 18mpg or so of a Typhoon look pretty economical.

Re: Northeast Caravan

smaug....
so for me to take my STi...it'd cost me about $250 in gas by your calculations and my distance. I'll give you $125 to take me.

maybe, I have to figure out what danielle wants to do first.. she is thinking of flying back.. if we decide to "sight see" on the way back then i won't be able to take anyone, but if not then i'll pile everyone i can in..

and renz, I wouldn't take less than $200 to take you.. I have to add in the constantly being made fun of tax

edit: looks like danielle was messing with me to see how pissed off she could get me, she isn't going to fly back :D
