I think you misunderstood Dave He was not belittling you in any way, just relating his own experiences. He has built trucks from scratch, and was wrenching before most of us here were born.

Not trying to rain on your parade, but that truck is FUBAR.Doesn't matter what # it is.

There are many decent trucks that you can find for cheap, you just gotta be patient. I saw a very very nice no issues Sy go for poo recently. And poo is CHEAP.

Do yourself a favor, and admit that maybe you just dont know.

You might not. :2cents:

Jimmy,
i may have misunderstood him and the syclone is a little new to me but i have owned and built 13 square body s10/sonomas and while the sy is uniquely different it is much the same and as i like a challenge ,i actually am looking forward to this build. i know how much work it is .but in doing this i will know what goes into this truck and will know better its limits and be better able to understand the "guts" of this truck. while i could buy a "finished truck " and add what i want to it i really want to build "my own" truck i am what most would call a "minitrucker" so i have a unique taste. i meant no trouble to Dave but what he said just angered me b/c he doesnt know my ability or the amount of patience i have with my projects.. so thanks for setting me straight

I'm digging your compassion for the trucks.

If it was a ZL1 Camaro or a Hemi Cuda Vert, sure it could be rebuilt.

We are just trying to keep you from pissing into the wind.

You could probably buy 2 complete running trucks for what it will take to fix that pile.

Nothing wrong at all building your own truck, but you can't make chicken soup out of chicken $hit.

I know Dave jerked your chain, but he was just trying to save you $. He's my boy so I took umbrage seeing him cursed, but then again I see your point.

Good luck.

another thing is that i can only do so much at a time and really cant afford to buy one in good shape right now cause i dont have 10-20 thousand layin arround so i can have one and build it slowly so i can afford it in the long run.......

Welcome to the site, it's awesome you are restoring an otherwise lost sylcone! Who gives a shit if it does cost more than a running truck. MANY running sylcones still need a lot of work, and any project requiring that much work to finish would personally have much more value.

I'm looking forward to hearing about your project as it comes along. Don't forget to take lots of pics!
