Off to Texas tomorrow for a Sy road trip!! WooHoo!

So I mentioned in another thread that my Bud bought a Sy out of Texas. We leave tomorrow afternoon at like 4 and will get there late tomorrow night. We pick up the truck in the morning and start drivin' the 37k miler back home. We made plans to stop and see the Carlsbad Caverns along the way as well as a Sunrise at the Grand Canyon. I'm sure we'll run into a bunch of cool stuff along the way. We're trying to make good time and get home by Friday evening because my bud has a wedding to attend on Saturday. It'll be rushed but tons of fun. My first long road trip on my own, and in a Sy. I hope the thing doesn't break down. Any particular things you guys think I should check besides fluids before we drive off with the truck? I'm way excited. I'll try to get some nice pics to post of our little road trip.

i would bring some pretty basic hand tools. when you get there buy a couple gallons of coolant, couple quarts of oil etc..... that should be all you reall need, and cds or an ipod with an iTrip so you guys don't get bored of eachother, which you will.

When we picked up ours we brought a pretty well stocked tool kit, along with tape, coolant, oil, jumper cables, zip-ties, trans fluid, etc. Might want to check the propshaft and make sure the brakes feel good, and check all the lights and underhood connections. Other than that, if you hear or feel anything wierd, pull over ASAP. Good luck, and have fun!:tup:

First of all, I won't be gay, no worries there. No brokeback stuff gonna happen on this road trip, haha. I should gather a few simple tools, tape and zip ties are a good idea. Thanks. We are trying to pack light though, don't know how much they'll let us take as carry-ons. Probably won't get on with a big screwdriver, maybe not even a small one... We'll see what we can do, and fun is for sure.

PS. Truck is in or just outside of Austin, 20 miles from the airport I think. Are you far from there?

It's okay, I can live with being a girl... and it'll be a rwd 5 spd. with a limited slip, roll bar, and suspension all done up.

I'm in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. A little far If you have any troubles on the way back tho stop by and we'll accomodate ya.
