I'm in Austin & have seen this truck in person as well. Great original condition! I wouldn't think you'll have any problems w/ it on the drive back.

Just buy a cheepo tool kit (19.99 ones) at a local walmart , gallon of coolant,trans fluid, oil , tape, ties, Yo can always use the struff sometime and they will take it from you if you try to fly with it. Just ask how I know. There was a swiss knife in my hiking bag I forgot about . You would tink it was the end of the world . I was like look f-ers I was born in pa still live there, I have 3 trucks, big dog,and a bitchy wife. Take the dam knife and get me go on my way.

Okay everyone. We got the truck and made it home safe last night. We left Austin, TX at 8am on Thursday morning and got home yesterday evening. We made it back in around 35 hours, including stops. We even went and saw the Carlsbad Caverns and went out to the Grand Canyon for sunrise on Friday morning. It was a great trip, full of memories. Will post some pics as soon as I have some time to upload them. Truck was great, clean (until we were done with it), and ran great all the way home. No problems at all.

My friend Adam bought it (LurchGuy03). He wasn't able to make it to the party, that guy I brought was my 13 year old brother. My friend wants to keep it stock, but I'm fairly certain he'll cross over to the dark side at least a little bit.

Okay, here are a few. I thought the one with no shirt would humor you guys per some of the discussion in this thread. The rest kinda speaks for itself. Pics are in chronological order. The last one's are of the truck back home in front of my house. That thing sure got dirty. Here ya go! PS. We didn't change or shower the entire 36 hours. Gross.

Cool pictures. It's going to take a while to get the truck A-1 again, it got filthy! Thank God he had pants on.....no shirt is one thing, but no pants....instant "salvage" title:rotf: The insect carnage on the bumper is always a nice touch:tup:

haha, that's me with no shirt. i figured no pants would have gone too far. i guess by looking at the pics it would look like i bought the truck. kinda misleading, haha. he's the ape in the red carlsberg jersey. he detailed the truck today supposedly. i should have taken pics of the radiator/intercooler, that thang got nasstay.

The scoop was homemade out of a garbage can. Looks pretty good to me for a trash can. Truck is all stock except for that, Optima battery, and a K&N drop in.

HAHAH I just drove my truck back 1300 miles from Virginia to Stl, Mo. It took 3 truck washes to get all the bugs off....and your friends truck got DIRTY!!! How many miles total did you two put on that beast driving back?! ---

Haha, I don't know what he's thinking about that craigslist thing. I think he's seeing if anyone wants to pay a buttload for this truck now that it's in CA. Uhhh, whatever. Don't be too hard on him. We put almost 2000 miles on the truck bringing it back.
