oil filter adaptor on block

whats the trick to getting this SOB off I need to replace the gaskets and orings and cant figure out ho to get the lines off the adaptor

You gotta get the truck up on a lift. Laying on the ground won't cut it, bad angle.The bolts are really tight and real easy to strip and or break. I'm speaking from experience.

You need to remove the lines 1st with a long extension and socket to fit bolt, I think the bolt is 13mm or 1/2" then the adaptor.

Put the adapter back in place to hold it steady,and use a line wrench.

lots of PB blaster and be very careful... those freaking lines snap real easy. I couldn't remove them from the GT at all, and the Ty was a close thing

I bought the lines brand new on my s-10, luckily I never had a prob on the ty. I got them for $100 and then wrenched on the ground for 4hrs, got mad, and left. came back and finished taking the lines off and on done in one hour. the old ones I cut in half and pulled off. but if you can get everything appart no damage that simply means you take plenty of breaks and have great patience. or maybe thats just what i read on my fortuned cookie at dinner

Thats the trick:tup: i had to go over the diff, bolt came right out although I didnt think the lines were full of oil so yep I took a bath :tdown:
