oil in my boost gauge line

i was looking under the dash to replace a blown fuse, and i noticed oil in my boost line... i dont really know what this means.... is that bad? normal? or WTF?

my boost gauge line is Tee'd off the bolt where the hose for the brake booster hose hooks up.

whenever I've run into oil in places it shouldn't be (had it blowing out the dipstick before!), it was the PCV system acting up. Pull your valves on the passengers side valve cover and see if they move freely; check for a plugged hose to / from the valves, etc.

I agree, check PCV. Also check to see what the inside inlet of your turbo looks like. The whole inside of your intake system could by covered in the oil film. Digesting oil like that could cause yor truck to detonate / knock because of the grime in there. If it's this far check your plaugs too, might need a new set.

I think all trucks to an extent will have oil in the orange elbow if they have a relatively stock intake setup; I have a small film, and just attribuited it to a small oil mist in the whole PCV system. I didn't know it was bad......

With the stock PCV valve, after some miles all will have an oil build up around the corner. If everything is coated than you have issues...

well i dont think it can be the plugs... i just did cap/rotor/plugs/wires maybe 500 miles ago. Thing is, i dont know how long its been in there, since i just noticed it... so it couldve happen last month or last year. I'm gonna take the KB intake off my sy so I'll take a look at the turbo inlet when i do that... and its probably time for new PCV valves too.

how do i get the oil out of the boost line? air compressor? or should i just get a whole new line? cause i did notice the gauge being off a little bit from what datamaster was showing.

I hope no oil made it into the gauge

yeah, just use compressed air, or even blow on it (no jokes please). I'd seriously doubt any harm would come from having a small amount of oil in the gauge.

Correct....there was oil around the corner and bottom, but no puddle, or significant amount to speak of.

To eliminate any charge contamination and subsequent power loss, most highly modified engines should vent via an isolated catch tank, which will also act as a collector for any oil lost. Greddy has a nice unit for about $90 if your worried about the PCV puking back into the system.
