Re: oil pumps Help Please Link fixed

we started using the Melling Select 10553 which has a 1/2" inlet for use with the 4.3 v6 pickup screen. The 10552 has a 3/4" inlet but none of the bolt on pickups are long enough for our pan. The 10553 is rated at standard volume with a 55psi spring just like the 55A.

Here's the our kit which is $30 less then Summit's price and comes pre-assembled/welded using all the same parts.

Re: oil pumps Help Please Link fixed

have you tried the 259s pickup? it's listed as a press fit not a bolt on, which would lead me to believe it is 5/8" not 3/4"..

The Melling 259s is 3/4" inlet pickup does fit the 10551 and 10552 oil pump.

I will take some pics.

Melling 10550 high volume has taller oil pump gears than Melling 10553 standard volume and pressure.

Melling Catalog on page 9 list oil pump 10550 and 10551 as the oil pump for the 4.3L 262 cuin application.

To get the correct oil pan to pickup clearance I had to use oil pump 10550 and 210S pickup.

The next closest was the 10551 with 259S pickup.
