Re: One last shot... Breaking up!
UPDATE: I know everyone was patiently awaiting a verdict, so here it is!
First let me thank Nick (NJ93TY) for swinging by my house and dropping off the TB gasket and new o-rings for the fuel lines. I had a lot going on tonight so his help is the only reason i got the truck back together tonight instead of tomorrow!!
Well the new injectors are in, no leaks, set base fuel pressure to 45PSI, re-burned a chip with a base tune (from Nolan), replaced throttle body gasket, and aside from that everything went back together as it came apart.
I fired the truck up and let it idle for about 10mins (40 degrees outside so it didn't warm up fast!) and gave it a go... Truck idled smoother than ever and when I slowly brought it up through RPM range it went smooth and flawlessly to 5k! I let it sit another 5 or so minutes idling and gave it another shot with the same results... ZERO off idle stumble, and ZERO hesitation or lean spots!
Let me note that I didn't drive the truck yet, and was 11:30 PM so I didn't want to piss the neighbors off so I didn't let it idle long enough to reach peak operating temp, and I just tried it in park in my driveway as I have been for 4 months. The truck did go into 'closed loop' however. The base tune is on the rich side so it needs to be fine tuned. I will hook it to the laptop tomorrow and take it for a ride to see if anything changes but for now that is the ABSOLUTE best the truck has ever idled, came off of idle, and smoothest it has ever gone through the RPM since I got it. Could just be the cool air and not fully warming up, but tomorrow will tell that.
I'm not calling it fixed yet, but I will know better tomorrow when I take it for a ride and really let it warm up.
