Re: Oregon club

Not aware of any clubs, but there are owners in the area. I'm a little far north, but usually down for a road trip if in port.

How far is Lake Stevens? I'm always looking for a reason to for a road trip myself as long as the weather is good.

It's about 30 miles north of Seattle, but I'm due to transfer soon, over towards Bremerton. There are several active owners up in this area, though.

Re: Oregon club

that would be a weekend trip for me. I been trying to find a club around here. I was in a Fiero club years ago and had a good time. We had monthly meetings and then in the summer time we would go on trips some were day and some were weekend it was alot of fun. I was hoping to find something like that with the typhoon.

Hey you get that ty running again? I talked to you about a year ago about rebuilding your engine. You have the 4.3 powered D-50, right?

#2131 I new it was, so what kind of bugs you got? I had some in my old one when I got it, I learned alot on here, even before I bought one.
I have a stock front prop if your interested, and an aluminum piece that goes inbetween the oil filter and the cone air filter if you want, you can have them for free if you want.

What dose the aluminum piece do? I have been reading alot on here and trying to learn. I have a bad hard start problem, rough idle, and I think I have a boost problem. the boost goes up and falls when I get on it. Sometimes the boost goes up and it either feels like it starts to lay over or it feels like its not even boosting sometimes. It just dose not have the power it used to before it blew up. I also have a problem when I start getting on it at about 3000 or 3500rpm the tach starts to jump rapidly and when it dose the motor runs like a motor that has to much fuel and its trying to clear it self out. Kinda hard to explain that one. I think I'm going to put a fuel pump in it and take it up to Roy at Paolo engine and having him dyno tune it. Do you have any pictures of that aluminum piece? I'm trying to think of what it looks like.

Re: Oregon club

Dont even think of dyno tuning until you get all these issues worked out. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge you can hook up to the fpr? Test pressure before replacing pump! Second sounds like a vacuum leak problem. Do you have an adustable boost valve or is it still stock boost valve? Was the motor recently installed? Man I could really help I bet. The aluminum piece I have will help keep the heat from the oil filter from the air filter.

No its all stock and I don't have a fuel pressure gauge hooked up yet but I think I might have a spare from the race car. I was thinking the pump might be weak from sitting in gas for 11 years. I just got the motor in and running about 3 weeks ago I think I'm getting close to 400 miles on it. Where about in portland do you live? We are in Milwaukie

Re: Oregon club

I remember you being in milwaukie, I live near capital hwy and taylors ferry rd. I have a test gauge that will screw into the schrader valve on the fpr. Is the turbo rebuilt?

There are only 11 trucks in OR.

6 of them are on jackstands.

This ain't no Camaro/Honda/Mudstain board where you will see one coming around every corner.

Re: Oregon club

sounds like you need to double check all your vac. lines, especially the turbo to wastegate and boost controller lines. Fuel pressure, and timing. Im gonna be busy this weekend with my kids but we can perhaps meet up during the week or next weekend. Im not looking to get paid either, would just like to make a new friend.

Sounds good. I was also looking to make new friends. Are you married? my soon to be wife and I were hoping to make new friends to go out and enjoy our Ty with. We were out of town this weekend thats why it has taken me so long to get back to you. We took the motorhome and went to the beach for the weekend man we couldnt have asked for better weather. So yeah just let me know what your week or weekend is looking like and hopefully we can meet and see if we can figure out a few things on my TY. Do you go to car shows much?
