Ostrich setup question

I just bought an ostrich from a fellow member, problem is that I have no documentation or anything on how to set it up. I downloaded the drivers, but I dont know what direction to plug the chip in. There is a red stripe wire, so does it go on the left or right according to my pics below?

Thanks

Re: Ostrich setup question

If the chip is in the stock socket when you take it out lay it to the side where it gos up inside the ecm easiest way is to take the whole cover off i did made it alot easier.

Re: Ostrich setup question

Thanks, I understand that part. Its the chip with the ribbon wire that comes from the ostrich to the G1 adapter that I don't know what way to plug in.

Re: Ostrich setup question

Assuming the ZIF socket is aligned properly, the red stripe is pin 1, and pin 1 is on the side away from the lever on the ZIF.

Your MEMCAL is on wrong... you might have already known that. You'll need to take the blue cover off to make it fit decent in the ECM.

www.moates.net has documentation for all their products.

a couple of pics from my photobucket page.....

I used some 1/4" by 3/4" round, self-stick furniture pads on the back side of the ECM cover to space it out enough so that the G1/Chip/cable would fit... had to use slightly longer screws.

Re: Ostrich setup question

WOW, THANKS everyone. I had no idea the memcal was in wrong. Its just the way it came. I flipped it to match the pics and will run red wire to the left. THANKS AGAIN. Problably save me from frying it.
