out of state ty title, how to

Soon I will be a ty owner ( after 12 years ), but the ty is in michigan and Im in ohio. So do I have to do something special at the DMV with the title. (ie like inspections) Thanks for the help

I have bought all my cars out of the state of Ohio and never had to do anything different. Just title and register it.

That's odd you need an inspection. Something I'd expect for California, but not Ohio. I bought a car from Ohio about 6 years ago, I don't remember any paperwork like that coming with it.

Scott, you have to take the Ty with.the title to the liscense beureu and ask for an out of state inspection. It costs $12. They check the vin on the Ty to make sure it matches the vin on the title and then give you an inspection slip. You take that slip with the title to the title buereu and they give you an Ohio title. It's really easy.

Sy-1177 is right. There is an inspection for out of state. I bought an IROC a few years back, had to drive it up there, no big deal. If car doesnt run, you have to make an appointment. this is different than the "emission" inspection.
