Here is a custom hitch I had installed, which comes out right behind the plate. It works awsome for towing my jetski. You guys want any info how it was done let me know.

Re: painting typhoon

The only problem with filling the seams at the pillars is they are there for a reason they are expansion joints just like in your drive way yes your body moves in the heat or cold On a ty you have larger panels moving around so you might encounter problems down the road

I never thought the color would cause it to crack. I was hoping body flex does not crack it.

Has anyone used 3M undercoating in there truck under the carpet? I was thinking about using it to cut down the noise and for stereo system.

Re: painting typhoon

Well I am still working on the typhoon. The main reason I was doing the paint job was I had problems after about 3k miles of new engine. I thought it was the stock turbo that was making some grinding noise and loss of oil pressure because there was no knocking. Nope of course the motor was screwed. After taking the motor out and apart the mains were toast. So since I had to take the motor out I decided to change the color and make the engine stronger. The new color looks sick, you guys have to see it in person. I got more pics that I have been taking and finely found the cable to download the pics off the camera.

The reason you see two different colors is because the silver is a base color and the blue is dye that goes on top.

Re: painting typhoon

That would look good too, but if it were mine I would go all the same color. I just think it looks better personally.

Here are some pics of my turbotime front mount a/a. The install when good, just had to make some mods to the core support.

Its on the right side of the intercooler looking at the pics above.. I paint it black so dosen't stand out behind the grill. I'll take some pics to show.

Re: painting typhoon

Kind off the topic but I was just looking at you I/C mount there ant it looks like you have removed the lower part of the hood latch support all together and the I/C it's self is know the support or "stressed member" so to speak. Is that correct and if so does it bother anything not having the grill support monted like it was stock to the latch support?

Back to your regularly scheduled thread!

I think I really like that color  . What is it?

Re: painting typhoon

Yeah you are correct. I also had to remove the center support on the core support. So far the grill mounts like it did before without the center mounts. When I paint the grill I'll take some pics.

The paint looks great. Its call true blue which is Hot Hues Candy color. It sucks cause I really like the color, but change my mind on color. I did want to take a chance on have someone keying my truck again and having to repaint the whole truck because you can't match this paint. The new color looks great also which is blue off the new M3's. I'll post some pics.
