Performance Heads

Hey Y'all - Im looking to replace the heads on my ty and have only found one very pricey set from McCoy. Does anyone know of any other manufacturers, or other options for upgrading this area. The main goal is to freshen up the valves as I am getting a puff of smoke on startup. Also, is there another intercooler setup similar to the McCoy package in a lower price range. Any help would be appreciated. - John

Brodix makes some nice aluminum heads or used to (???). The Vortec head conversion is pretty popular if you want to stick w/ cast iron but it requires you to have some mods done to your lower intake manifold.

Do a search for L35 heads.. you'll find tons of info and they are more of a bolt-on.. the vortecs have the better cumbustion design but require mod to the lower intake to work.. here's two links about the vortec heads

don't waste the money on the brodix heads . just get some 96 & up vortec heads, do the intake mod and be done with it ! get the same performance for 1/3 the money

Send a PM to 420 on here, he has a set of stage III(?) Mccoys with matching intake and rockers and all that jazz for sale for a reasonable price.

I have a good, complete set of stock L35 heads that I'll sell you for $125 + shipping. L35's bolt on without welding the intake or tapping the heads. I can probably get Jimmy to take them to the SyTy Nats for me. If you or somebody that lives close to you are going you can just pick them up there....it would be free shipping.:tup:

They came off a good running truck. You'll need new gaskets of course but that should be it. :tup:
