Personalized plates in TX

What plates does everyone have in TX for personalized plates? How many characters can you have? I need the dl on emissions, etc as I'll be registering the SY in TX within the next month. Anyone have any good ideas for them also? Thanks....

Its six characters. Kinda rules out many of the good plate ideas, unfortunately.

Only 4 letters here in WY. Unless you purchase a ham radio license and then it can be 5 but it cannot say anything special it ends up being your radio id. Really lame.

Emissions depends on where your moving to in Texas, each county is different.

Since you are moving to harris county, get used to 40 buck inspections with an emission check

In Texas the plate stays with the vehicle.

When I bought my Ty in Dallas the plate said TyFun.

Ive got some plates from a few years ago, that i had put on my 2001 Blazer Xtreme that i kept after it got tottalled,

Also on the emmisions, i believe it close to 50 bucks now, make sure you have a functioning cat converter, and that the truck is in good tune, and it will pass the sniffer tst pretty easy.

I always change the oil, clean the air filter, and things like that when it comes time to have it sniffed, thats way im pretty certain it will pass.

In Texas the plate stays with the vehicle.

When I bought my Ty in Dallas the plate said TyFun.

Not to start anything.......but the plate doesn't stay with the vehicle unless the owner forgets to take it off......atleast in Texas. I've had LIL QIK and TOO QIK for several years on several different vehicles. Just wanted to throw that in there.
