I took a few pictures of my compact dry cell battery set up today. I have had this on my truck a few months now, and i have been happy with it. I have the battery bolted down under the old battery plate. Held tight with a custom bracket I made. It cost me $79 for the battery. This just seemed a lot cheaper and easier then putting it in back on my ty where i really did not want it anyway. Battery has 680 cranking amps and is 7 long, 3 1/16 wide and 7 high. and weight is about 14 lbs.

Will our stock terminals work on this battery? In your picture it looks like it will, but I thought I would confirm it.

TIA,

all you have to do is take out the bolt in the end of the cabble that screws into the battery and put a 6 mm bolt in the plastic holder with a washer. only takes about 2 min to do. but took me 2 days to realize that the factory bold would come out. i also undid the ground wire on the firewall to make it streatch and fit. the battery wires are barley long enough.

if you decide to get the battery. just make sure you dont leave you laptop or anything pluged in for longer then a few hours or it will kill the battery. other then that. it works great.

I had this battery in my Galant VR4 before I sold it recently. It had plenty of starting power for a small motor, but very little reserve. Leave the lights on accidentally for 10 minutes and your battery is dead. Not good for an AT vehicle, IMO.

I'm kind of surprised the Hawker Energy battery has enough cranking power for a 4.3, but then again it started my 9:1 compression 4G63 motor.

The battery can be mounted upright only and must maintain the metal casing when used. Not too good with heat from what I heard.

I used to so I could keep the battery in the stock location w/o having to relocate it to the trunk.

Why do you say it can be mouned upright only? it is a sealed battery and they told me i can mount it at any angle. mine is on a 65 deg. angle. when you say metal casting are you talking about the battery hold they they also sell for like $85?
