Plug Wires?

I want to put new wires on my sy as they are the origionals......Probably time for an upgrade. I would like to use something other than the stock ones (I don't think they are even offered anymore).

I'll probably just make a set like I did for my TA. I would like to get ones that fit in the factory wire looms for a stock look.

What wire kits do you guys suggest?

Re: Plug Wires?

I used the MSD Plug wire set and was very pleased with it's fit and look PN# 31849

I also used the blaser coil and 6AL box. NGK Irridum plugs with (out of box gap)
They make a plug and play harness for the 6AL box so no splice is used.

Hope that helps,
Scott~

Re: Plug Wires?

I sell the Taylor Spiro-Pros for $37.99 set (red or black) and the NGK UR5 or UR6 plugs for $1.89 each ($11.34 for 6). In stock and ready to ship if you need them.

Re: Plug Wires?

Just received the wires and plugs from Tucker. Everything looks good. Except you forgot to include a person who knows how to install them! ;) I guess I will have to do it. Does it matter whether you use NGK 5 vs 6's? Saw some posts on this. I understand the difference between the two but did not grasp if it made a significant diff in the operating of a stock truck.

Thanks.

Re: Plug Wires?

The UR6s are one step colder than the UR5s and the CR42TSs. The benefit of this is a reduced inclination to detonate as easily. Same performance, mileage, etc... just better at fighting knock, basically.

Re: Plug Wires?

The Taylor wires from Tucker are GREAT....ohms from Parkard wires were 6.56 and went to .86 with new wires (20k setting)
