OK NASTE peeps... Time to show some love for our lost one.
Just in case you missed the sad news:
http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=102444
Our beloved Jack "Icarus-54" passed away after a long battle with mesothelioma.
Jack always loved to host a BBQ at his house around this time of year, and we all hoped we could have one last meet. Unfortunately he has passed on, so BlackTy Jim and I have had some discussion about having a wrench session and BBQ at Jim's house.
Jack has a few syty's in his stable that were in all sorts of different form modification wise...but he wasn't one to leave project undone or half assed, ever. He had purchased a brake from me but had not gotten around to installing it. He had also been toying w/ his coilovers to find the most comfortable position for him to ride in. Both for his white/white typhoon. Anyway, Jim is bringing the Typhoon to his house and we thought it would be great as a group to do the last mods to his truck, do a complete detail inside and out....and then have Karen, his wife, come pick up the truck and be presented it by us as a group. She knows that Jim is doing the brake job, and asked him to lower the coilovers a couple clicks...but doesn't know that we're planning to do it as a group and then have a BBQ in Jacks honor with her when she arrives. Sy10 Zack (Jacks son) will be helping wrench and detail so he's aware of the plan, and will keep it a secret from his mom so that we can surprise her.
The first date that seems to work for both Jim and I is Saturday June 6th. Hopefully we can get a great turnout to show some love and respect to Jacks family and truck.
I'm also holding a small fundraiser via sticker sales that Jim and I designed last weekend:
http://renzfab.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10&products_id=19
I'm keeping not a single cent so consider it a donation with a chance to get a sticker for your truck or toolbox. We'll use the money to give some sort of gift to Zack and Karen. Not sure what just yet, so if you have ideas post them up.
If you'd like to donate and don't want a sticker...feel free to paypal me directly: mike@michaelrenz.com as a gift and just put a comment that it's for Jack.
Please chime in with whether you can attend or not so we can keep a tally to have an idea for food and what not. Also, we need side dishes / desserts / beverages. So bring your favorites. Protein will be supplied.
