Looks good! My wheels will look like that again someday. I can't believe my truck used to be that high. It's definitely stock.

Truck looks great!

Wet sand the tailpipe with super fine grit. Then take some Mother's polish to it 3 or 4 cycles. Amazing how nice stainless looks with a little work.

You ever drive around Old Town Scottsdale? I just saw a black ty with gold lettering drive by my work about 2 hours ago. Hey Brandon, how's the trucks coming?

you don't get rid of anything you just need to get lowering blocks and crank down the front torsion bar...you still have the stock air ride in the back?

WOW, if you are still running the stock air ride that is awesome, mine were shot on my TY when I got her and she would slam back so hard going into second she would chirp the tires, great looking truck, and the rims look really good too.

Nice truck. When are the AZ SY/Ty's going to get together?

Two things:

1. I have an original piece of that metal that goes on top of the IC, can't really tell if yours has it or not. If you don't, let me know if your interested. I had to replace my IC mainly due to my next comment . . .

2. I would really eliminate the plastic air tube (or whatever that is called) that feeds air to the Turbo. Mine cracked due to the heat and little tiny pieces ended up in my Turbo. Totally ruined it! That stock air-intake, IMO, was crap! If they would have used some sort of a metal, that would be ok, but in AZ with our heat, the plastic just wont last and you will end up ruining your Turbo. :2cents:

Re: Post wax shots in the heat.

im gona have too relocate the bat then and just use a cobra 90. Yeah supprisingly i can still feel the compressor activate and the rear end lifts.. its amazing that still works.
So i can just slap the lowering blocks on, torque the front torsion bar down and be lower with no consiquenses eh?? if so then ima do it. well i think thats gona come before new feet on those stocker 16's...

I would be down for getting the phx area boys together this sat or next sat (the 26th)

Ive also been mulling around the idea of a phx area barbaque, if anyone is interested in driving out to 185th ave and elliot (past litchfield road and up the hill). If you would care to attend at sometime, post your willingness to participate and ill get a date goin and think of how to get some driveway space.

Re: Post wax shots in the heat.

Just let me know. From the looks of it, it appears that we are spread out all over the valley! I'm in the Arrowhead are, there are people in Tempe, Queen Creek etc. I was at a mini car show in Friday in Phoenix. Not too many people knew about Ty's. They were impressed.

Regarding the rear suspension, is it a problem that I too have the original rear suspension that also works (i.e. the compressor lifts it etc.) Mine is lowered overall, but it still utilizes the rear lift.

Monesq: Is your Ty an AZ truck? It would be my assumption that having these trucks in a completely rust-free non-hostile environment would allow the stock equipment to last longer than most.

My guess is that the air suspension setup was kind-of an afterthought by GM implemented with the assumption that one would load a Ty up with random crap on occasion, thus the need for an air setup. If you don't plan on loading the truck up or towing, I don't see any reason not to get rid of it. If you want to maximise the truck's performance (which was PAS's intention) than I'd ditch the air setup and grab a set of the aforementioned beltech leaf springs. That, or go with a coil-over setup which would be ideal, but the most expensive route...

I'm currently contemplating which setup to get... I have blocks right now, but that's a kind-of half-assed ghetto setup IMO.

Yes it is an AZ Ty. I sometime carry stuff in the back, especially when we go to Costco, my wife's car is too small. Although I have modified the truck it is still a daily rider. I am not very verse when it comes to the ins and outs of high performance, so my question is why exactly would changing my rear suspension increase the overall performance of the vehicle? If a coil over set up would still allow me to use the truck for light hauling AND increase the performance of my vehicle, then maybe I should do that. How much would such a set up cost?

That would be a question for Jeff of JS Manufacturing... He's done a ton of experimenting with these setups and he'd have a ton of helpful info regarding them...
