When you guys powdercoat your stock wheels gray, to retail the stock look. What kinda gray do you use??

There is a PC called "rally wheel silver" that I like that Eastwood Co. carries among several others on thier site. They ( Eastwood Co.) have a forums section where members can post pics of thier projects and samples of colors on different items to give you an idea of what it looks like, I would suggest checking it out and youll see some pretty neat stuff there. There is a powdercoat seller on E-bay that I have had good luck with also "Rosie's Powdercoating" that carries a nice supply of colors and the quality is quite good.

Re: Powdercoating Stockers

Once you powder coat it thought you loose the two tone on the inside detail of the wheel right? Also wouldn't most PCers want the wheels to be free of rash? Thanks

Well, yes...if you Powdercoat it one color then you are going to get one color all over, but you can do the inside part in a different shade first and then just mask it off when it's done and then do the outside in the other color ;) ( and a nice clear over top everything when done  ) it wouldn't be that hard for anyone who powdercoats but would cost a little/alot more. As far as the rash goes...the wheel would of course look better if you had all blems fixed first but you could powdercoat over top of it if it wasn't that bad. Depending on the thickness of the coat you could "hide" some of it if it's not that bad, it's really up to the owner I guess . I would love to do mine but I have not found anyone around here that can strip the shitty looking chrome off of them :(

This is " almost chrome" PC and I think it looks pretty good also

Re: Powdercoating Stockers

my rims had some curb rash on them...origionally the whole wheel was powder coated but due to the "blemishes" just polished the fronts and it looks damn sweet

Re: Powdercoating Stockers

i'm likin those. do you have a pic of the entire Ty with the wheels???

i didn't like the fact that polishing the wheels took some of the definition away from them. but painting/powdercoating the scoops adds more contrast.

looks excellent.

Re: Powdercoating Stockers

Don't powdercoat the stock rims. They will look like poo.

We need to find a place that can refinish the centercaps to new, because I know a place that can make the stock rims MINTY mint OEM new looking.

My refinished rim with decent OG cap:

with a scotchbrite, and alot of elbow grease.

i like the idea of polishing them, and the idea of painting/powdercoating the inserts to add definition. cause nothin looks better than stock.

So what did you do to that wheel Aeroking? That looks nice, I also really like the polished wheels on AWDs. AWD did you have any problem polishing the center cap?
