I need to know this too... Because my stupid alternator bracket broke taking my dead alternator off.

Now I need to replace the bracket.

Have you tried using a torch to heat up the area around the hole in the pulley to expand the hole a little?

Re: Power steering pully being a PIA

I had this same problem. Seems to be pretty common. I ended up just taking the entire pump/pulley assembly out and replacing it....It just wasn't worth my time to fight with it anymore.

New pump - around $60
Pulley - $15

Just an idea :2cents:

I used heat, two different type of pully pullers and way to much time. Im going to cut it off im thinking! or just replace the whole thing, great idea time is money and i lost my ass with this thing!

Re: Power steering pully being a PIA

as far a a aftermarket pulley it may be tough, i have a march pulley on my v-8 s-10 and i don't think it has the notches in the pulley like the stocker
The March power steering pulley has three threaded holes for a special puller to thread into. The question is who makes a puller that utilizes those three holes?

Re: Power steering pully being a PIA

I used the puller for the pully with the three holes and its on so good it ripped the threads out of the pully.
