Ported the waste gate hole numerous times as I didn't want it to be too big and not maintain the boost number that I was looking for. Also you need to have a good downpipe/Head unit and a free flowing exhaust system. Found that after numerous attempts trying to run a certain number. How much power/flow are you moving and what size unit is it?

Was this with your Buick exhaust housing or SyTy housing.? In talking to PTE the wastegate hole is bigger on the SyTy housing. My setup is currently running a PTE-44 with their downpipe and no cat. Looking at building a new combo with better flowing heads and cam and a turbo with room to grow. Considering 6266 or 6466 but going with the latter may be an issue with boost control as I would not likely be pushing it to its potential at this stage and bleeding off more exhaust.

Buick housing got into back pressure to fast and the three bolt to four bolt adapter was a little small for my combination. How hard have you ran that 44? By chance can you post a picture of your down pipe head unit?
Thanks,
Bob

Ran 12 flat 1/4 at 22psi with the 44. Never Dyno'd though.

Sir,
That is one of the better head units/Down pipes. Are you handy with a die grinder? When you go to a bigger exhaust wheel it will need to be ported/profiled. You might have to put a bigger puck in it but most likely not. Also PTE no longer makes the SyTy housing so unless you have already bought the new turbo you most likely will have to use your existing housing and have one built. that is a SyTy housing correct as I can't see the bottom of it? PM me your number and we can chat about your goals if you like.
Thanks,
Bob

I was able to pick up a spare used PTE SyTy exhaust housing that is getting machined for a 66mm wheel by PTE. Really just trying to decide on the compressor wheel and bearing type. I PM'd you my number if you have some time to chat. Thanks!

Josh,
What size motor and Static compression? Also what is the intended purpose of truck race or street? I would like to have more details on the combination. Talk soon.

This is an old thread, but I might was well update it. I ended using a RPM turbo oil filter kit. It dropped my PSI about 5psi at the turbo (measured with a gauge) so it is under 30psi. It fixed my extended idling issue.

Re: Precision 6466

Mine only smokes with extend idling, I have not fixed it yet. I think I have a solution this year, I am going to add a filter on the supply line to hopefully drop it a few psi. Have you measured the oil pressure at turbo? Or are you going by the engine oil pressure?
