I was pondering today.......It takes me sometimes 5-6 times to Blank an
e-prom.WFT. Does anyone else have this issue.Or is my light just old? Is made by Data-Rase?
How is everyone else erasing these quickly

Thanks.

More details.......

What eproms? (27C128? 27C2001/020? 29F040?)
What duration erase cycle?

Obviously, larger eproms will take longer to erase (you know this I'm sure), but here's a general guideline I have for my eraser (Datarase II):

2732 (4kb) - about 4 min
27C128 (16kb) - about 6 min
27C512 (64kb) - about 10 min
27C2001/020 (256kb) - about 15 min

Re: Prob "blanking" memcals

Stock memcal is 27C128 (16kb) so programming/verifying it as a 27C256 (32kb) would always return an error. Ultimate EPROMS can be programmed/verified as 27C020 or 27C2001. Either works as both are 256kb 12.5v settings. Sounds like you've found the problem.
