Profec KPa units, dont seem to match scan data

I changed my Greddy Profrec b to read in KPA the other day and opened up tuner pro. Right away I noticed it wasnt even close to the same number. Anyone else noticed this?

Is it possible TunerPro is reading absolute KPa across the range (vac/boost) of the MAP sensor, while the Profec is reading in boost KPa relative to atmospheric pressure?

Here's an easy way to tell. Get on the throttle a little to get right at 0 PSI boost. Does TunerPro say 100 KPA and Profec say 0 KPA?

Re: Profec KPa units, dont seem to match scan data

Ill have to check that out tomorrow. I suppose the relation would always be the same? i.e., if the EBC says 30kpa, then I could learn what that would translate to to the scan tools and just remember it correct? Or am I thinking of this wrong?

If the profec is not using absolute like tunerpro is then yes you can just remember the offset. I think tooky is right saying your 30kpa would be 130ish on tunerpro since it is using an absolute value and the profec is calculating from atmospheric

Yes I think that could work, but the scan tool might have a small offset like 10 KPA one way or another... Only way is to try and check for sure. I.e. does it read 200 KPA near 15 PSI etc..

x2. It's probably gauge pressure vs. absolute.

The Profec only really cares about boost, not what the ambient pressure is.

That does suck, I was hoping to have a "KPa" gauge in the truck so when I see a trouble spot and dont happen to have the laptop fired up, I could just remember what it was, oh welll.
