The build is comming along nicely now that I have been layed off for a few months  I work on the truck now everyday for as long as I want to. I have no excuse now not to get it done. I will add pics as I get stuff in and get them installed.

no 4 bolt mains?

No, Crank bearings were fine. I replaced everything anyway and had the surfaced all redone. The caps had moved around a little and I even made a couple 35 PSI runs. Not going past 25 with new build or 5K RPM. Plus it only has to last me till next fall.

Got a little more done this afternoon. Heads are on (L35's, 2.02/1.6)

Only two things: Wire cup brush on air grinder and Time. Didn't turn out to bad.

Is your floor jack bolted to the crossmember?

Good eyes. No actually, I have a long bolt I use when I jack up the syclone. I remove the end on the floor jack and just stick a bolt through the top of the cross member and through the hole in the jack. I can actually drag the sy around like this and move it side to side without worring about it comming off the jack. I thought it was a good Idea actually.

I like to see more people using this intake setup, I've had mine in my truck for about two years now and I've had no problems with it. I had the middle devider cut out, custom bungs and fuel rails made and I have the 90 elbow for the upper intake pointing towards the drivers side. Good luck.

I would love to see some pics. You can email them if you don't want to post them. I am actually doing the same thing you are talking about. 90* towards drivers side for better FMIC pipe routing. Cam will be in Tuesday and Wednesday motor is going back in. Thanks

Ohh yaeh, Did you do a lot of other mods when you did the intake swap? I have been told that the intake swap alone makes a nice improvement by itself. Can you confirm this?

UPS man came today. Now I can get the motor finished up and back in the truck in the next few days.

I should have some good pics for you in the next few weeks when I get internet hooked up at home. I did that intake setup when I did my built motor, all together I never had any back to back comparrisons.

Motor is finished up. All but the intake which will go on after the engine is back in and the bungs are welded up.

Very nice. I see you take some pride into your work. :)

Thanks, Setting out there with a bucket of soap and water and a knuckle brush this morning getting all the grease off before painting it was not to fun. But it looks great now.

Nice build write up.

I'm hoping to start mine very soon. But I'm going 4-bolt and vortec's. I have been thinking about that style intake. But I really dont know if I want to go that route or not.. I'm still iffy about it.

I am going vortecs here real soon. Not a issue. Simple Saturday swap. If you have the money to do the intake swap and can tune yourself. DO IT ! ! !

I heard someone say somewhere that the intake swap was worth 1 sec. in the 1/4.

Yeah but at what mod level? lol. I mean you could do it to a stocker and pick up a full second, but on a truck thats already built it might only pick up a tenth or two.. you know. :dunno:

What was your cost damage on the intake? PM me if you would rather not talk about it in here. ;)

Supposed to be at all levels.

Cost is around $500-$600 for a basic swap.

Here. I took a page out of Mike Renz book. I took a labeler and labeled every plug. I will show you a pic of the new harness tomorrow. Here it is before I started.
