Thought I would share my progress with Crispy. This Aaron Tim's Sy, you know, the one that caught on fire a few years back. Aaron stock piled several parts for the SY and in a trade for a Bowtie block and some Crower rods I have agreed to reassemble the truck. I am hoping to have this running some time before Christmas.
This is how I received the truck. First thing is first, interior is coming out and I am going to power wash as much of the burn away as I can. After that I will likely "scuff and shoot" the firewall and frame and suspension parts. Then will look to start reassembling the interior.

I agree but since Aaron has done a lot for me in the past I am going to try and make this even out. We'll see how it goes.

Got the carpet and HVAC stuff in
Got started on the inner and outer harnesses
Pain in the ass for sure but I am getting it together OK. I plan to have the interior mostly done by the end of this week at which point I will install the new fuel lines and fix any wiring under the truck. Once that's a go, it is on to getting the engine ready then putting the front clip together.

The Topper is nasty... But it was part of the deal when I bought the truck. It sat for years on the side of my house and was used as storage for parts just as TJay said! Heck it even kept the snow off of mike's bowtie block for a while!!!
And yea. I got a good deal on the trade! THANKS MIKE!!!! Another box of parts is on your way tomorrow!

Hey Ron. Do you still have a decent non ac box handy? I looked at mine and it is pretty ugly... I need one for mike here soon and shipping it to him might be more than its worth...

Since I am moving in two weeks I have decided to light a fire under my own ass and get this thing done. I have made some pretty decent progress in the last two weeks. Mind you I run a business and have two children and a needy wife, makes it hard to get time but here is what I have done so far.
Set up the interior harness
Got the dash in with cluster
Steering column
And now the truck is in the garage on jack stands so I can get everything done under the truck
So far under the truck I have had to replace the fuel pump and tail light harness, replace the forward fuel lines (this was an absolute nightmare), slide the TCC and VSS harness in to place, replace the shifter cable, replace the TV Cable (not sure if anyone has ever done this on their back with the stock exhaust in place and trans Tcase and engine installed but damn, what a PITA. Luckily I had done once or twice before and have a good trick for it), replaced the starter.
As of now to complete the underside of the truck I just need the shift cable bolt for the eyelet on the trans and install an on the block filter and of course reinstall the prop shaft.
Moving forward, once the truck is back on the ground I need to finish the interior by installing the center console, glove box and under trim pieces. Then it's on to the engine bay where I need to install the new lower intake and everything else that goes in to making the truck run. I think once I get the truck off the stands (should be by Wednesday or so) I feel confident I will move much faster getting this thing completed.
