Re: Crispy

OK, it looks like I have the engine about 99% done, I am just waiting on a vacuum kit.In the mean time I am going to focus on getting the core support in place with the electric fans and the fenders. We're looking good for Thursday:tup:

Hopefully I can have the core support bolted in and the e-fans wired up by lunch tomorrow.

Re: Crispy

Man I am really getting close here. Tomorrow I just need to install some type of battery tray along with a battery of course, add some vacuum lines and finish up some minor interior stuff.

Here is what I got done today

Oh and I also need to wire up the e-fans. Other than that a little fluid and this thing should start.

Re: Crispy

Definitely almost done. I did run in to some decent snags with the battery project but got it all figured out now. All that's left is to finish wiring up the fans, bleed brakes and install the vacuum line kit. That and about 20-30 minutes worth of interior work.

Should be done hopefully by lunch tomorrow.

Re: Crispy

This is all Mike. I owe him a bundle! He made quite a few custom touches that I will show everyone once it is home and I have some time to detail them!
The custom piping for the kenne bell intercooler is one, the ac delete, the radiator fans, and the battery relocation is another .

It will sure be fun again! First it will be to get it home. The next big project is cleaning out the back!!! Hopefully that will help me pay my bill to Mike!

There are a lot of thanks I have to give out. Overkill thanks for the trailer use! Ron thanks for the heater box!and early on some others donated some parts for crispy's revival so thanks to them as well!

Re: Crispy

That's pretty impressive. Slow time of the year for ya?

I wish. We are moving tomorrow and I didn't even plan it. I found a house with double the sq footage for $500 more than what we are paying now and decided to snatch it up. Whats crazy is I just found this house two weeks ago. My dear wife refuses to bring this truck with us to the new house so I decided to go ahead and put the pedal to the metal on it and just get it done. It's been a bitch trying to run my business, pack, raise two kids and work on this truck every day but we're almost there.

I almost told my wife to shove it when she said she didn't want to bring it with us but when I thought about it I really didn't either so I left that fight for another truck. She keeps asking me when it is all going to end and I told her when I can't do it anymore and to remember what I told her when I first met her, "make me choose and I'll choose the one that didn't make me choose"

OK, it looks like my end is done. The rest is up to Aaron to turn in to a gem. Here is what we ended up with

The truck does indeed run, rough but it runs. I am thinking the Vortec heads with stock chip might a reason why but who knows. With more time I am sure this thing can run well. The starter locks up so Aaron will have to shim it. Other than that it's just a lot of little things that will probably take a lot of time  Have fun Aaron:tup:

Re: Crispy

its a 4" to 3.5" 45 degree silicone coupler I bought mine for $10 shipped new on ebay, but you will have to stiffen it up a lil bit when revving engine you can see the middle part collapse on REV, but if you install a piece of pipe on the inner part no more collapse, I will post a pic of mine as well.

Re: Crispy

So I picked crispy up from Mike's house. As we tried to get it on the trailer it was not running very good but that was for me to work on. Had to screw with the throttle to get it on. Then all the sudden it would not stop. Had to shut the key off to stop. I nearly hit Mike and screwed up Overkill's storage box on the trailer. I guess I was still a little shaken up from nearly killing mike that when I hit a dip I screwed up the jack... Ugh... Now I owe mike and Jared...

At least I have parts in the back of crispy that will help me pay for that collisal f-up...

The camper shell did that. The truck was trying to shake it off like a dog with fleas.

Re: Crispy

Mike,

Great work! You accomplished in weeks what Aaron failed to accomplish in over 10 years.
Hopefully you installed a fire extinguisher right before you gave it back to Aaron.

Aaron,

I'm happy for you finally getting to drive your truck again, but if you breakdown you better have AAA this time.
