I have a different shaft if you haven't bought the Gilbert already. The ones I have done are bolt in. I used to distribute the Gilbert. It is a good shaft. If you do the Gilbert, the front diff pinion seal needs replaced after you remove the stock flange and replace it with the Gilbert yoke or it WILL leak. The main reason for going with a different design BY FAR was guys putting them in backwards. The units in the pics in the thread below bolt straight in .

Try a local driveline shop first. I've had them do the boots only on the CV joint. They have to get the small end clamped in the right spot or the boot will tear again from the CV joint going in and out. The ones I do are similar to the Gilbert style in that they have a slip yoke but they use a flange that bolts right up to the existing flange on the front diff without taking everything else apart.
