Ok finally drove it down to the motorplex. T3 with 116 octane and 22lbs of boost, downpipe uncapped the truck went 12.4 @ 107 this was the first time to the track. The FP could have been lowered due to the fact it was studdering a little of the line. I feel I would do a little better next time by leaning on it or going to a little less octane. No signs of detonation on plugs. Pump gas is no prob runs great the race fuel was a little fat for it it though. Track was UNTREATED with no VHT my 60' times where in the hi 1.70's. When thay have the VHT out lo 1.60's is not a prob. I think this truck will run hi 12.1's with this combo soon but will never know.

stage3 vortechs are on the way along with ATR headers and cam. Speaking of which, If you read this BG I will need to get with you on yet another chip.

Block and speed pro are next !!! My original goal was 11.5 but goals are meant to be changed for the better.

OH yeah, Any of you guys having problems with datamaster and Windows XP prof. ??

Post your combo, would ya?

Definitely should be able to get more MPH, but that's what tuning is all about.

Thanks for listing those..

For anyone paying attention to the 50# madness, I'll be releasing a new version of the 50# ultimate soon, probably not classified as beta any longer ;)

You can read about it here: 50# chip version 2 (this page is linked to from our Tech section at www.chitownsyty.com as well)

Anyways, my guess is that you'd benefit greatly from the new chip version, as you are probably running way rich, and the new chip would allow you to lean it out to gain some good hp. I think high 11s at 112-114 is possible in your current configuration. I haven't released the new version yet (as I indicated on the page), and if anyone wants to discuss it further, post about it in the tuning section. FWIW, the adjustable fueling will offer in the neighborhood of 30-35% fueling modification at WOT... very dangerous, but flexible for many different configs on the stock motor (I hope).

Let me know what your plans for the truck are *currently*... are you going to be doing some racing in its current configuration? Will it be down for a while until you get a new motor built? Are you going to put more parts onto the stock motor, and build a monster in the meantime? Just curious, as I'd like to get some people testing the new version as soon as I feel comfortable releasing it.

I can have the heads on it pretty quick or I can run it like it is if you need a tester. I will be on vacation until the 10th in Mexico. I can get you some DM files for ya with the vortechs on it by the 25th.

Im gonna have the bblock built in august and then swap everything over and keep a stock sy motor in the wraps

Current goals is to easily run an 11.5 but no faster on the stock block no matter what the capability.

Email me when you get back, I should have testing of V2 done by then, and I can get one for you then.

I'd say build the new motor with the Vortecs on it, leave the motor as you have it now... have fun with it instead of wrenching and risking blowing up the motor and hurting the heads.

What you think I have patience or something

Im thinking new block in August, wife thinks otherwise, as my dispossible income is supposed to go into home improvement.

Just got speedpro in the mail today for the buick. WHOA, thats going to take some learning. That project goes into the shop on the 20th for a back half and a 12pt cage, Mark Williams rearend, seats, brakes, fuel cell, money, and money, and mo money. Im glad I get to practice on that before I put it into the sy. The buick is a joint project with my brother who makes another "0" or two more than me every year. The car will be NHRA certified 8.90 class. May end up running a pte72 on that one for a little while until the big motor is ready in the fall. We hope to have a low 9 sec street car to take to grudge night. We're going to haul the slicks in the syclone

You still working on your TTA? I think you mentioned it last time we talked on the phone

I run DM with XPpro on my home computer to replay and record while in the garage. No problems.

CR42TS now, I want to try some of the ngk's people are talking about. When I do the heads I will install the new wires and loom. My number 6 wire is in bad shape. The coil could probably go for replacement just to do it. Its prob the same one that the truck cam with 11yr ago!

Brian

I am getting ready to send you my Ultimate Chip for the 50# injector upgrade. I am also running a PTE52 and was wondering if you needed another test vehicle, i have the following mods...

stage 3 mccoy vortec heads
mccoy cam
ported and polished upper and lower
50# injectors
pte52 with 3" downpipe and cat
atr exhaust
9/11 converter (2800 stall)
aluminum cche
hard wired jasbco, lines removed and fans
mccoy air filter kit

Compared to the standard 50# heads and cam chip, how much better is the new version and how will it help? Please let me know when it will be ready because i was going to send my chip out to you this week and will hold off if i need to.
