Have you checked the ignition control module? (It's under the distributor cap)

Is the injector harness pluged in? And is there power/continuity up to the plug for that harness? Also check the oil pressure switch.

Re: Question: truck, not starting driving me nuts

Isn't all the programming on these early ECM's on the chip?

yah thats what i thought... so basically just pop the chip out of the old one and place into the new one? im unsure so ill wait for someone with more knowledge to let me know.

Ya, it's got a Turbo
Re: Question: truck, not starting driving me nuts

Remove existing PROM, carefully. Insert into new ECM, carefully.

Guessing can become a very expensive game my friend. It might be worth your while to diagnose rather than throwing parts at it...

Re: Question: truck, not starting driving me nuts

So why does it need an ECM? (If it runs, it doesn't need one, does it?).

This means something. The charger is supplying current in a path that the battery can't. Does this truck have a battery relocate? What did you do to it between the time it last ran and when it didn't? What other clues are present? (Like the goes-out-after-a-few-seconds-when-it-shouldn't Check Engine Soon light).

I think you have an electrical issue. Not an ECM or component problem. Good luck.

Battery charger was a timing thing I'm thinking it happend once replaced ecm rthis morning been great since
