heading to work few days ago...

light drizzle out... i just want to get to work, not screwing around.

stop at a light... then i hear this awful sound... 97ish Firebird with a broken taillight and FORMULA V8 written huge across the bottom of the door, revving at me.

light goes green and with absolutely NO BOOST built, i slam the pedal... truck lurches up and im already rolling on him hard...

shut down at 60 im about 4 ahead, dont need to do anything to stupid in wet weather... he comes rolling by on driver side..

his g/f has her mouth open with a puzzled look...


damn right. you just got beat by a truck.


he proceeds to rev more, drop gears and spin the wheels while beside me.... yah. its wet, that was really impressive.


he takes off and goes swerving in and out of traffic.

he ended up behind me in traffic at the next light

damn firechickens don't know what there messing with. My buddy has a 95 trans am whick looks and sounds really good. When me and him are around people dont even believe that my ty is faster. too bad for them

I'll put my lil' old firechicken up against you anytime. Guys like that give true f-body owners a bad name. He needs to buy a honda. Although I wish I could give my car more than 1/4 throttle in the rain without wrecking.

ok and how exactly am I a troll? Just because I dont post alot doesn't mean I'm a troll. I love sy/ty's and when I have the money I'm planning on buying one as a project. Just because I dont drive one now doesn't mean that I am a troll for posting. And if you re read the post I made and stop only looking at the part where I'm messing around I said that I hate guys like the one he raced. You guys are too quick to pass judgment on someone. I read this board to learn about the trucks so when I buy one I have an idea what I'm doing working on it. I dont sit here and troll to stir the pot. There's nothing wrong with a little rivalry at all.

I think the problem with the F-body nowadays is that the prices have really come way down, especially on the '93-'97 LT1 models. Anybody can afford them, so it's attracted a new breed of loser to the mix.

I have to give those cars credit though, they can be really fast. I would have put my '93 Z28 6-speed (modded) up against my Syclone (lightly modded) any day at the track. On the street though, dry or wet, the Syclone will almost always take the win.

The way I see it...you have those who do go fast and those who are close cousins with Joe Dirt. The guy above? Joe Dirt. The guy who got raked over the coals on 60 minutes last year for being such a scum bag because he leaves his girlfriend and baby at home while he races his sweeet WS-6....he's one that does go fast.

sy isnt doing much racing anymore, or at least im trying to stay off it until i get my ty and can tear down the sy and do a MAJOR tuneup...tranny is starting to buck (please please please dont break) plus i need to throw on the external wastegate... excuses i know.... but hell, the sy has had some hard miles on it in the past few months with having to daily drive it...


the FC that started was black, cracked driver side lense and FORMULA V8 in white on the doors... way larger than what it normally is...

Factory to Factory, my Ty put down better numbers than one of the new '01/'02 f-body's.
Well he had a lid, exhaust, and dot's.

I had him by .2

13.6 to his 13.8.

Nice guy, VERY fast for N/A up here.

I Live with my g/f in Winter Park. Right near the intersection of goldenrod and university. You actually ran into my g/f a month or so ago. She drives a pewter 99 formula. Her name is Heather (Ls1Grrrl on the board). Guess it was a different formula u ran into. I've seen a really ugly white one with black formula V8 huge on the side of it. Hope you get the issues on the truck worked out soon. Let me know when it's all fixed and we'll run


Will_In_Denver: Are you saying that your Ty went 13.6 bone stock? I find that hard to believe. Stock LS1 f-bodies run low 13's at around 105-106 mph. Mine went 12.74 @ 110 with just an airlid and an exhasut cutout. Takes alot more than that to make a Ty run 12's

Times really do depend on the driver, the car, and how all the numbers fall together on the day you have to prove yourself.

I've seen stock trucks go very fast for stock. Same with the F-bodies and everything else out there. There are just too many variables to say a stock syclone goes 13.2 or 13.6.

Theres a good number of trucks around here to hang out with ;P.
All that and we just got a "wolf in sheep's cloathing" that moved out here. Should make for some interesting times.

Lots of fun, myself, I dig most cars that are worth a hoot, pops has a sy, 95z28M6, and a new wrx.

If you'd like to hang out, I'll give you a call one day if we decide to go cruise or do some wrench breaking.

The F-body club around here is fantastic, really wish their monthly show hadnt been stomped out by waterford.

I give props to the f-body guys, given I run into one thats running like it should, and the driver can put it down, I'm not too surprised to loose, but it sure is nice to see that open jaw as they try and figure out why that quiet little truck beat them.

The only thing on the Ty not from the factory was the KB chip.
Not dumped, plugged-up CAT still on it and everything.
Check out that 60' on crappy bald all seasons!

It pulled the front tire cuz the stupid original bilstiens were on it...

Agreed. Just dont start in saying how yer car is the fastest thing on the planet.. Bottom line, everyone likes their car but there will always be a faster car (prolly one U wont admit to losing to)..

Right now a 10 spd schwinn is faster than my Ty. With no intake its hard to run... Just please remember, this board is the Sy/Ty board. I'm sure that there are plenty of posts over there of MORONS that own Sy/Ty's and do stupid things like the guy in the post above.. Hell some people even post stupid shit here about what they do. My point is, dont get upset if someone hacks on the T/A's its prolly safe to assume that most peeps here feel up til its demise it was the only TRUE sports car produced by the big 3. (atleast reasonably priced)

Besides, my next car is gonna be a '99 Anniv T/A, know where i can get one hella cheap??

yep, meet up with heather awhile back...she'd posted around here before, works with warren the canadian...just never got to meet up with her..... we never really got lined up, so couldnt go head to head... she was walking me at a 45+mph roll on (hence i need that tuneup BADLY), i know shes got a few goodies...

like ian said... id be happy to hang out and shoot the shit... need to get more buddy buddy with the F-bodies around here
