Doing half-shafts, lower ball joints and wheel seals. When I took the bearings out it was packed with grease between the bearing and the seal. Do I repack that area? I'm assuming I do but thought I'd ask. Also is multi purpose OK or somethin' special?
For wheel bearings i prefer Bel Ray water proof grease. I like to make sure everything is PACKED so there's no room for water. Ball joints...for me, whatever is in the grease gun and about 3 or 4 pumps. Half shafts...I've never repacked 'em though I've seen what looks like brown general purpose grease supplied with replacement CV boots and I've also seen blue colored grease supplied with replacement boots too.
