whats the stock adjustment supposed to be?

i remember seeing the service video a long time ago and i remember something like you're supposed to adjust it so that 1/8th of the hole on the rod end is showing? err something like that.... but what side is the gap supposed to be on? i cant remember. or if anyone has some pics that'd be pretty helpful...

TIA

Re: quick stock wastegate adjustement question

You have to do it so it puts a slight tension on the wastegate to keep it shut. If you have it too loose it will leak exhaust into the downpipe all the time and make your turbo spool slow.

Re: quick stock wastegate adjustement question

which way is closed? towards the firewall or towards the radiator?

Re: quick stock wastegate adjustement question

the flapper arm towards the radiator is closed. your first post is correct on the adjustment per factory. you should have to pull the rod coming out of the actuator towards the firewall with some pliers and slide it over the flapper arm.

Usually adjust it so it is a half a hole short from fitting, then you will need to pull the rod to fit it over the flapper valve.
