When my trans was going out I had an opportunity to race a 200SX SE-R with a SR20 motor in it. That thing was prettty damn fast. I dont know who wouldve won if my truck was runing right but he wopuldve definately given me a hell of a run. He even launched it like a pro. I was vedry impressed especially being that my Ex bizatch had a 200SX SE-R and it was a turd.

a stock bottom end SR20DET is good for about 400 or so to the wheels, then it's on borrowed time. You put that in something that is half the weight of our trucks and you got a nice race on your hands.

Nissan's do impress me with the different options you can put in just about any of their cars. A friend of mine has a '92 240, put a 300zx twin turbo motor in it. With stock bottem end, and single turbo, ran 11.40 on race gas, like 11.80s on pump gas, and he drove it the hour to the track.

I was thinking about doing a SR20DET swap in my Nissan Pickup before I got the Sy. Just something to play around with but the Sy would still kill my Nissan even with the swap. I def like my Sy more than a Skyline!

It will be fun to race my AWD RB26DETT from a late model R33 Skyline against a modded SY/TY once I get done widenining the Datsun Z cars chasis for it. It should weigh in around 2800-3000lbs when done with cage and AWD drivetrain in it.
ALl I'm upgrading is cams,turbos,fuel control and delivery and the usual wheels and tires and a cross-mission hardened gear set for the tranny.
It would be a more decent representation or comparison of mods for the trucks and the Skyline claims, perhaps........just not in the Skyline skin.
I don't know how some of you think, but I like to box somebody in their best shape or not at all...if you know what I mean.

Ummm they didnt make a skyline in the U.S. there for his car has been imported which means that his motor is from japan. Unless his skyline was only a TYPE M then he had to have RB25DETT i think is the engine code. Aluminum block/heads, Twin turbo, AWD. 280bhp 260ft.lbs. Pretty quick i guess. 0-60 5.5...... if it was an R33. Anyways great kill, i think he was making up excuses trying not to look like a tool for talking shit and getting beat down. Nice kill.

I work on Skyline GT-R's all the time.... I also have and drive Syclones and Typhoons..

3 psi.... I dont even know anything that will regulate to that low of boost... sounds like BS from the start to the end.

There are Skylines, and there are GT-R's. The top of the line car is the GT-R 2.6 liter , twin turbo, awd.

Down from there its like a Mustang there are 2.0 liters, 2.5 liters , rwd versions , non turbo versions..... its like saying you raced a Mustang and beat it... you race a 6 cylinder secratary model and everything things its a Cobra R......

It was turbo though. GTR or not, it was also a Skyline, secratary ornot, he got raped. When 20 people follow us to see whats going to go down between a SKYLINE and a Typhoon, youre damn right Im gonna soak it up if I killed him by 6 or so cars. I dont care how lame it is. If everyone in town thinks its all that and I can prove that it isnt, then thats all that counts to me. At first I wasnt bragging but now I am. I dont think you can really imply that I beat on crap cars especially if you look at all my kills and what I have written about them. You sound like the guys on the local racing forum here, they make me want to croak.

humm, well I rode in a skyline last time I was in Santa Barbra and it was way fast...Im not sure which model it was but, I dont think a stock Ty could have beat it. I have ridden in a few Tys, they are fast but this felt faster...
But regardless if 20 peeps saw you beat a car that they think is "the fastest car in town" then thats all that matters...You should steal his girlfriend...

Ehh, I got a girl that is waaay better than his. Im not so sure veryonethought it was thhe fastest car in town, I think most of them just heard SKYLINE and assumed it was dope. I have earned quite the rep in my town. I am one of the ones to beat if you know what I mean. I just cant stand when peopel start making things out like I was implying that I am great or something when I was simply posting a kill like I always do. There always has to be someone out htere who has to come with the oh but this and that speech. I get tired of it.

Relax,relax........Tyndago was simply stating that it appeared the SKYLINE owner got what he deserved for talking smack with his unprepared car !And he's right in saying the broad differences between the models available.
If your local rep. is now improved due to this race, "KUDOS" fellow SY/Tyer ! :tup:
But understand ......it appears THAT Skyline .....isn't THE one to beat just yet.Because I KNOW my RB26DETT AWD in stock form will make a mildly modded SY look like it was turned off. Its a hard pill to swallow ,I know, but its the bold facts.
They have "active " AWD, twin variable cams, crossflow heads, twin garrett turbos,large stock exhaust, close ratio 5-speeds etc, etc. Think about the tech differences in our rigs for a sec. ? We are still doing great with our old technology in my book. ;)
If you've got a good video with sound of the race, I could probably tell you what drivetrain he had in it .

According to this guy, it was RWD and one turbo. He had said something about waiting for his "real " motor to get here from JAPAN. Thats all I redally know. That and he was talking baout only being able to run 3 psi.
