you said most guys are running mid 9, let's see your videos.

I'd surmise you'll be waiting a while to see video's :). Bottom line is a 4,000 pound 300 HP truck is no match for a 396 pound 190 HP bike. 4 wheels v/s 1 might win from a dig for a brief span of time off the line so WHOOPIE, but who goes over the line first in the end is the winner. I am pretty confident I could powerbrake my daughters Geo Metro and beat most bikes off the line.....might only last 10-15 feet but hey, I got them off the line

Re: Raced a GSXR xxxx CC

I think my truck might be able to pull my 750 in the 1/4 mile now, especially with the new build. It would be close, I'm sure, as both are capable of 10s. I will find out later this summer when I take the truck and the bike to Infineon for some passes. It's a lot cheaper to run 10s on a sportbike than with a $65K Syclone, that's for sure. And the gas is cheaper too :)

Well, with a SEASONED rider, you should easily take any AWD vehicle off the line. Dude, Shawn, your daughters Metro couldn't take a shopping cart off the line, Ive driven one or two

Well, with a 1/8 tank of gas and the right conditions, it is peppy in the low gear. Guess it depends if the shopping cart is empty or loaded with groceries and how plump the lady is pushing it (HEEHEE).

A (generic) 1000 is bad ass,but a (generic) 600 is toast up to about 70 with a decently modded 4.3 Sy/Ty

Oh yeah,Deanssyclone SMOKES 1000's on video

So your point is that your Ty is stock?

I am going to have to disagree with you on this one. I own a CBR 600 f4i and of course had a sy for the past 8 years.

my sy did a best of 0-60 in under 4.3 seconds and was probably a low 12 sec truck at one point. my 600 can do that in 1st gear.

However, it does LARGELY have to do with the rider. A bad rider would be like a syty guy that doesn't know how to Todd A. maneuver a syty, turning a 4 sec 0-60 truck into a 5+ sec truck.

So drivers are equal, the bike will destroy the truck from any speed from 0-70.

Probably one of the most important things to remember is that someimes a 600 will be quicker than a 1000 because it is much easier to keep the front end on the ground in a 600 than a 1000. Of course that has to do with rider ability as well, but in general this can be a pretty true statement.

FWIW: if I could clone myself and line myself up in my sy vs. my bike, I would kill my bike 0-60 because I know how to drive a syty and am bad at riding my bike.

either way, I don't see the 1/8 being match for a 600 against a stock syty and the 1/4 mile would be a joke.

my 600 can do, with a good ruder, 10.7's at 128ish stock.

most guys in cars that don't ride have no idea how fast bikes really are. I love syty's and fast cars, but to beat a bike it takes massive power and money. I just got into it with a _spak'n new Carera (sp?) with massive fat ties on the back, still had the stickers on the window. The guy though he was bad on the freeway as I was just cruis'n in the left lane at 65. I dropped it into second spinning 9k. He wanted to go so I had at it. It was a joke and a waste of gas. My 5k machine red lining at nearly 15K destroyed his 100K machine right from the get go. I wish I had my gas back.

If you are talking about a litre bike, forget it unless you have 850+ RWHP...and pray to God the bike isn't a Busa, turbo'd, or spray'n.

When my friend had his 2001 it made 830 HP to the wheels & would smoke Busas from a roll @ any speed.

Here is why I have little to no respect for the biker boys. I always say, I am not slamming on brakes to narrowly avoid running over a moron when he falls off. Now OF COURSE, its not all of them, but around here its about 85%.

Why you would never get me on a bike, cant fall off your car.

Found this along the way, interesting

So, here is proof that bikes are NOT god, nor are their riders.

Everyone of those videos is a squid drag racing with no gear on. Some people just don't belong on bikes...that's been proven many times. Here are some videos I shot with the bullet cam last summer, there's a lot more to motorcycles than drag racing and doing wheelies:

Come here, you wouldn't think so. I swear these guys around here kill me. You can tell when a guy is new to a bike. He'll start doing weird things. Standing up and shaking his pants out, kicking to the side, taking a hundred to feet to put his feet up, pretending like he is walking at 50mph, riding with no hands and looking at everything but the road. All attention getting tricks. It works I guess, they always have a car load of high school girls drooling over them. I guess my opinion of them is what it is from what I see around here everyday, I really don't mean to offend anyone, unless you are one of the dorks I am talking about.

Re: Raced a GSXR xxxx CC

No offense taken. There are plenty of squids around here with baggy pants, tank tops, sandals, etc. racing around doing wheelies on their dealer plate liter bikes like they own the road, They endanger themselves and others, give responsible riders a bad name ,and drive up insurance rates. It's tough to be a saint on a sportbike, but there's a time and place to ride these things hard and it's not in town on congested city streets. Age and the testosterone factor has a lot to do with it...

I personally know people including myself that are by no means PROFFESSIONAL RIDERS, just good street riders that have broken into the 9s with a completely stock late model 1000cc bikes with only the special race prepping of a strapped down front end. Especially GSXRs, ZX10s and although more than 1000cc, the ZX14 and Hayabusa. As for proffesionals, well, once in a while on a Tuesday or Thursday night, you can catch Ricky Gadsen at ATCO RACEWAY.....like I said Mike, you got that guy good and thats all that counts....good job.....keep the kills coming.

I agree with this... My father was running 10.3's on is 91 zx 11 like five years ago... strapped the front end down and with his jet kit was in the 9's

He also ran a few 9.8's on my zx 12r ...... im not as good a rider as him which is why Im saying my father did it but if your around bikes enough you'll run into bikes running these numbers allot

I agree. I suppose I would swerve to avoid damaging my front bumper though, provided there were no cars next to me.

Re: Raced a GSXR xxxx CC

Laaaaaaaame.....My buddy and I raced a busa wednesday evening(from a roll) in his c6z06 that has a cam, headers, hp tuners, drag radials, yada, yada and rolled that busa the phuck up!!!! We raced him up to a 140mph the first time and he shut down......he then wanted to go from a slower roll(about 25mph)...so we went to a little over 160mph with the same results. Needless to say the guy on the busa was shocked he could not get around the z06, but was very cool about it! :rotf:

I think we need to see some time slips & videos of all these esay mid nine bikes,w/just a header dyno tune & makes 197 HP
Gadson raced Jason Britton on Prepped ZX14's & ran 9.4-9.8 IIRC
Longer swingarms air shifters,lowered etc.

Lets see some videos of a stock, unmodified GSXR1000,ZX10, run a mid 9.it does not happen & if it does,,,it's not easy & a typical street rider will not run 9's

I posted a Vid of a z06 getting killed by a Busa...and to think a cam, headers, and tune would make up that distance is funny.

I suppose if someone has 30K+ to throw at a car and make 850RWHP and then someone how beat a busa at 170mph you earn the right to brag. I congratulate you on taking out a 12K bike that is bone stock...Nice Kill!!!

here is a 540RWHP Stang getting killed by a 600. Go ahead and add 300HP to that car and put it up against a litre bike. I'll take the bike every time. If its a Busa and the guy can ride it, save the gas.
