Mark, IMO you eleminated the stock air tube/crossover "restriction". In fact, you made the path as open(unrestricted) as possible. IMO, it wasn't the ram air that helped but the lack of restrictions. :2cents: Anything put before the turbo will be a restriction weather its a ram air box, crossover, air filter ect. The ram air box as pictured will never supply enough air for the turbo. The turbo will then have to suck/pull air through the ram air. IMO even underhood air(filter mounted directly to the turbo) is better than ambient if it causes more of a restriction.All my opinion of course
