ok, so the typhoon didnt idle all that well when i bought it but it drove great even under boost and shifted hard, i figured, just a simple tune up??. well, drove it alot like 1000+ miles in 2.5 weeks, then one night coming home i got on it and i believe i was in third gear when it downshifted, it hit 15lbs then dropped to 10 then climbed again and went past 15 and i let off at 16lbs of boost since its a 2 bar. after that when i tried to accelerate it bogged bad and the idle was now terrible.(idles like a big cam). my vaccume is 15hg at idle now and was 20+ b4. My fp was and has been since i got it, 32psi at idle and 50 under high boost.( i have a afpr). i did a compression test and everything checked out fine,pressurized the intk and found that the tb was leaking a lil frm the shaft like usual, timing was zero with brn wire unhooked and around 12 with it hooked up at idle) i ohmed the injs and they were all 14-15 ohms. new plugs(ur5) wires(taylor) cap and rotor(duralast gold). still runs crappy. has a code 44 which is running lean. but smells like fuel bad out the exhaust??. and a low vaccume code frm the map. i had previously unhooked the egr from vaccume and plugged the line since it was making the ty surge in 3rd gear while crusing.but it was unhooked for some time. so i now was getting a egr sytem failure code also(turns on and off at freeway speeds.) Anyway, backfires when u try to open the throttle by hand and shakes the whole truck really bad around 1500rpm. datamaster is on its way but i just want to know now!! any help would be very nice.(msd blaster coil was on it when i got it)
also every diagram that i look at shows the flat part of the distributor pointing towards the driver, mine is pointing straight back parelle with the firewall?? timing is fine tho along with the firing order according to where the screws are on the cap. possible problem? i was thinking blown intake gaskets? map sensor bad? bad throttle position? bad ignition module?bad coil? i have checked all the vaccume lines and zip tied like everything down. just got it and the last guy didn't know anything abt it so im just guessing with everything that has been done to it ( has paperwork that the head gaskets were done 2yrs ago so i'm assuming intk was also done in the process. im lost...
