Really Weird

OK, can someone explain this one? I have my IE (latest version, running on Win XP) set with the ToolBars locked, no Links or Go button, and compressed to 2 lines - all the controls and "File, Edit", etc. on one line and a long address bar on the second.

Lately, *if* i get an email that I have a new PM or that there's a new post on a thread I'm watching, and *if* I use the link in the email message to access the BB my browser opens with the ToolBars still locked, but with the Links button and with 3 lines instead of 2. Once this happens IE will keep opening this way until I reset it.

Weird stuff...

I don't know.. You might want to ask Bill about it.. I'm sure it's "feature" in the new IE. :)

Sorry i'm not of more help.

No real problem - I've just learned not to use the email notification links to open the BB. You're right though, it's most likely some setting on IE but I haven't found it...yet...

I am assuming you have restarted your PC, right? Sometimes settings don't "set" until a reboot.

It's not that. All of a sudden any time I open IE with a link from an email it opens differently from my set preferences and then opens that way every time no matter how I open it until I manually reset the preferences again. This happens with all email linkks - not only UBB notification links. Links within the BB open normally in a new window.

AHA - just fixed it! It was Eudora (my email client) - I had it in compatability mode for Win 98/ME due to other unrelated bugs. Just set it back to normal XP mode and no more reset browser settings. Yay.
