Rebirth of Ty 649

I posted about this truck way back when I first bought it. After looking at it for almost a year I decided to do something with it other than call it garage art, that's what the sy is for

Looked like this last tuesday before it went out for paint

And I just picked up all the cladding on friday from the painter

Should have the truck back from paint this week, then reassembly begins.

Yep, spent most of it's life in AZ, no rust at all, just really badly baked original paint.

I bought it from the fellow who imported it up here. He was on his way to get it inspected when a woman clipped the front end and damaged the bumper, hood and grille. He was going to part it out, I ended up buying it due to my soft spot for sytys and the colour.

It will be a very nice truck with a new coat of paint, problem is I'm going to want to keep it in spite of the fact I have no room for it

Looks funny all garnet, glad I decided to stick with the stock grey for the cladding.

Now to find time to assemble it

The main reason I'm takin so many pics is in case I decide to sell it that the new owner will understand the reason for the paint. NO rust in this truck, at all.

Truckless. For now.
Re: Rebirth of Ty 649

That is a sweet color. I'd love to see a picture of a Garnett next to a Red, just to see the difference. Can't wait to watch the progress on this truck.

I'm sure a photo op with Cams Red/red will present itself at some point this summer. I'll post pics for sure.

Be nice to have something other than a black syty here this year, lol.

I had that pic as my desktop for a loooooong time. I think I'm in love with Cam's truck... but shhh, don't tell him that.

If the truck is for sale send me a PM with price and details

Truck isn't really for sale at this point, I just know how I am with vehicles. Don't need it, kinda want to keep it, meh, we'll see.

If I do decide to sell it I'll let you know Ken.

Re: Rebirth of Ty 649

Was just cleaning up my e-mails and found the pics of the truck after the accident.

Really was a fender bender.

Just figured I'd share so everyone could see just how minor the damage was.
