Rebuild bottom end

I got my Ty (93 #991) it has 140k on the clock and i wanted to know with what to rebuild the bottom end with to make i almost bullet proof. i wanted to add bolts-ons but i need a good core to start with. thanks

Tony ran a 10.70 on trw pistons, eagle rods, and 4 bolt mains.. that should be strong enough for you I imagine, and not too much $$

I heard a scary number when I asked someone how much it cost to have there block drilled and tapped for 4-bolt mains, with the caps...it cost about $600.

Could there have been some confusion there? Or does that qualify as "cheap"?

Don't they have to line bore these after they are bolted in? When looking around for prices, one place said it had to be done, another said it didn't have to be done if they lined up good. GM Power manual said their caps have to be machined. Thanks for any guidance on this.
