Refinished Stock Wheels.

Well last year I picked up a spare set of wheels with the idea of getting them refinish. I was wanting to have the caps refinish as well so I took my time in locating a place to do it. A member and a friend here (Z SKI) refer me to a place here in Calif that has done work for him. His contact no longer work there. But the shop said they could do them with a 1 day turn around, but being I was dropping them off on a Friday morning Dec 24th that I would have to wait until Monday Dec 27th morning to get them back.

When I went to get them, they were telling me that the finish is not as good as they had hope for because the wheels had come from back East. On Sat Feb 2nd I had new tires installed and put them on the truck. Yeah I know they are just stock wheels but what do you think?

Whoa!!! They look splendid and the coloring in the center caps is factory perfect (I "might" know why that is)!

I have always been a fan of the factory wheels (if they aren't neglected). Now if you are sporting slotted/drilled rotors and Wilwoods, SSBCs or Baers, the factory wheels have to be replaced to show off the braking hardware :).

Re: Refinished Stock Wheels.

They look great, not many pure-stock appearance wheels out there, most have been polished, painted or swapped out.

The wheels look good! I had mine done at a place here in LA and they didn't paint the GMC lettering red, I have to take care of that, the red lettering makes a big difference.

No the Caps that I got from you are put away in the garage. I couldn't bring myself to use them. The same place redid the back East caps as well. The stock wheel is the only reason that I have never jump on the brake thing. What good is a truck that will stop as well or faster then it accelerates.:rotf::rotf: I forgot to say the the total to redo the wheels and caps was $420.00.

They look great. I cant wait until I pick up a set from T-Bone!

He got an almost "brand new in the factory package" set of center caps from me. The wheels and caps I sent you pics of that I keep in my attic are used but real nice. Take your time.....they aren't going to anyone else.

....back on topic. Sorry, Lloyd.

They look awsome. I could imagine what they look like blinging in the moon light. I love refinished stock rims the best.

Re: Refinished Stock Wheels.

Not to hijack, but for anyone in/around Georgia, I went with a place called Metro Wheels in Marietta, GA. They charge $159 a wheel to straighten/repair, clean-up, and refinish. I'll post some pics of mine when I get them back, even though I may be slammed by ya'll for going with powdercoating them black. LOL
