Reliable Sy/Ty shops in South Florida?????

Hey Sy/Ty Owners,

I am looking to purchase a Typhoon and current reside in South Florida. In my quest to purchase my long awaited Typoon...many forum members have instructed me the following:

a. Find a relative stock Typhoon to purchase.

b. Find a reliable shop in your area.

Here are my questions:

1. Being that I am in Ft. Lauderdale...does anyone know of any stock or slightly modified Typhoon which are for sale?

2. Secondly, are there any experienced and reliable shops in South Florida which work on Sy/Ty's??

The only people who touch my trucks other than me and of course other FAST members is SS Performance in South Miami. They maintain a handful of local trucks and lots of other vintage and late model muscle.

Not to say there are not alot of good shops out there. But if you're looking to do mod's to your truck when you get it. Learn to do it yourself. It will save you $$$$$$$ in the long run. So by "work on" how do you mean? Like oil changes and such, or like, motor rebuilds/head work.. ect..?

The BEST advice would be to contact a member close to you who knows what they are doing when looking/working on these trucks and have them go look at the truck with you. Unless that person is themself selling the truck. Then I would say buy it if its at a price you're willing to spend and is what you believe you want in a truck.

And not to sound mean here, but open your search area to a little more then local, lol. Look in other states. There are deals out there, you just have to find them. And odds are, they are not remotely close to where you live. (Bad thing about owning a low production anything)

Yes, FAST gets together pretty often. Our big Miami Meet usually happens at the end or beginning of the year... the past few years it has been at the end of January, to which it will probably be again for 2007.

The meet is usually at Gary's place (GAShan above) and we have anywhere between 5-15 trucks for a typical meet.


If you guys PM me your email addresses, I will put you on the exclusive FL mailing list so you can keep up to date on events, get togethers, and asking questions.

JMC, there is possibly a Typhoon going on the market soon near me located in St Pete. The owner is a long time FAST member, 93 Wht/Wht, bigger turbo, alot of polished items, low mileage. If youre interested, let me know.... the truck is very well known in our group.

Yes, I would be interested in the white Typhoon should it come on the market. Since I am in Ft. Lauderdale...St. Pete is only about 3 hours away!
