Get ready for summertime! As a last ditch effort to get trucks ready for Carlisle in early August.....Sportmachines & RenzFab are joining forces to host a wrenchfest in Williamsport, PA at MattW's 7,000sq ft playroom, I mean shop. Last time we had 10 or so trucks inside the shop with plenty of room to be working on 5 or 6 of them. There is a lift and a pit...as well as plenty of fabrication equipment if it comes to that (cnc plasma, mig welder, grinders, chopsaw, drills, drill press, shop press already there... plus I can bring my tig and anything I have that matt doesn't that'll fit in the truck...and I'm sure Tom will bring a slew of tools along also)

Primary day of wrenching will be Saturday, June 28....but if someone has a big job we can't complete on Saturday, staying until sunday is fine also. Bring a sleeping bag just in case.

Shop Address:
1415 Memorial Ave
Williamsport, PA 17701

Added bonus this time: my father in law has a full service engine machine shop only 20 minutes away...so if there something needed that we can't do at matt's shop, we can run over there to use the lathe, mill, or anything else I know how to use. I think he's out of town that weekend, so unfortunately he won't be able to offer same day head jobs / block hone/bores, etc.

RenzFab and Sportmachines will provide some food and beverage..but feel free to bring your own items to contribute to the group, or keep to yourself.

Please bring your own sets of tools. Last time we did this we had about 5 or 6 concurrent trucks being wrenched on. We only have so many tools ourselves and don't like to cross pollinate them if possible.

Also, RenzFab and Sportmachines can have some products onsite upon request (save yourself some shipping costs)

* Disclaimer: yes, we know this is the weekend after Homecoming, thus making those going to MI most likely unable to come to this also - that's fine...if you can drive your truck to MI, then you probably don't need to wrench on it much anyway. Or if you go and break it racing at homecoming, you can likely fix your truck (with help) the following weekend! Sportmachines is attending both Homecoming and Wrenchfest, so go to both and get your fill of Tom while you can!

me? no. Takes about 8 straight hours if you have everything you need there and ready to go. I don't have the attention span to do it in 8 hours....

but you could drop your stuff off and my father-in-law could rebuild it when he gets back from vacation  I'm not in the engine building business...I only do it for myself because I'm too cheap to pay someone else to do it.

Re: Wrenchfest 2014

we may have a syclone there that needs a complete motor install. and some minor motor assembly (just heads torqued onto motor) beforehand...so even if you don't have anything to wrench on for yourself...bring your grease clothes along. The more the merrier for some projects!

Re: Wrenchfest 2014

I am going to miss my chance to smoke out the 7000 sq/ft shop. I wish I could come. But sadly I can't. Please all take a moment of silence, and then as a group, chant to release my truck from the machine shop/assembly shop in time for Carlisle. The shop said I would be driving it in June. So far the motor has been cleaned and checked. June.... Riiiiight

Mazda says it can tow 3500lbs.. Maybe pull the driveshaft and flat tow with a tow bar...
