How hard is it to replace the glass in the side view mirror? I have a set of Ty style power mirrors, but the glass is cracked on the passenger side and I need to replace it...

Maybe Renz can raid the blazer...

FWIW, Warren, I went by a local glass company and they cut/installed me a new mirror for $8 while I sat there. Might be an option.

Yup, any good automotive glass shop should work. I remember chatting with one once and was amazed to learn that allot of folks come just to have the pas convex mirror changed to flat cuz it drives them nuts.

objects in mirror are no longer closer than they appear. LOL. i'll have to check into it. filed a claim with ups so we'll see if they refund the money or not.

Re: Replacing mirror glass.

I haven't pursued the auto glass route yet, just looking to find a replacement in my spare time. So, I found that the MotorMite part number appears to be 51568. Went to AutoZone and Discount Auto Parts today and neither one could order it. I thought that was odd, so I went online and can order it through the DAP website. That's dumb.

*** FYI ***

The part number listed above does NOT fit the mirrors.

Re: Replacing mirror glass.

i work at an auto glass shop and if they dont have a pre cut shape for your mirror they can easily make a pattern and free hand one..if its your origional mirror its probably held on with silicone or some kind of glue..now we just use double sided 3m tape..you can get the shop to order you the part from their supplier as well and just install it yourself

or just buy a new mirror and be done with it. I bought a new one off eBay for $10.

Typhoon mirrors are the same as... Jimmy, Blazer and Bravada mirrors. Just look for the small power ones.
