return home check in thread

rolled in to the driveway about 40 mins ago, straight shot from BG, 1 stop for gas in WV and 1 stop later on the PA turnpike to piss and take my contacts out. Shaved 1.5 hours off Mapquests time and 5.5 hours off of the ride down

I almost got wrecked by some dumb KUNT in an Escalade who apparently decided she only needed to get her fender in front of me before turning on her blinker and nearly smashing me into the concrete wall to the right of me. Needless to say she got some kind words from me as I raced up next to her after I regained my composure, then I just took off and made sure she stayed behind me for the last 53 miles of PA, then I was able to lose her once back in NJ. Messed up my mileage on that leg but of well, I still nearly got 500 miles out of the last tank.

Hope everyone elses trip home was less eventful, although I heard the Klingers had a flat on the Tahoe, but Tom "King of Nats" Joy stopped to help out

Glad you made it back Morgan, it was a pleasure actually putting a face to a name. We left ~11 and got back in at 4:30. Trip was flawless and the truck got 24mpg after the cruise tune.

Were broken down in Louisville. Left BG around 630 PM and the tow rig lost power south of Louisville around 830. Code says bad injector. Dealership changed out all 6 last week. WTF. Hung out at a shell station for a couple hours. Got towed under warranty to a dealer but the driver got lost and we just got into a hotel. Took the Sy off the trailer to get to a hotel. Sucks.

He towed it just like that trailer and all.

Sucks on the tow vehicle dieing on you. I got in early Saturday evening. It was kind of nice being 2 hours away. I trailerd up there and back on one tank. I noticed the fuel pump was getting noisy on the truck (has 160k on it) so I may need to look into that. Pretty uneventful. Much better than the rush hour stop and go through Nashville on the way up.
I am going to check my mpgs for the towing next time I fill up. I think the truck did pretty good. I got 2 thumbs up from people who passed on the way home also, so that was kind of cool.

Hope everyone made it home ok.

Sorry to here about the break down, hope all works out for you guys.

I made it back home and unloaded, no probs from the ole ford tow rig other than the loss of some oil.

Adam and I made it in just now.

Very tired on the last stretches of 75, but we both woke up like giddy children when we hit Ocala... All I can say is Ocala National forest (state road 40) is one hell of a drive on Sunday at 1 am in a pair of Syclones. The temp drops about 10 degrees as you enter, the road opens up to many very long, strait, & side road free stretches. I think we burned a 1/4 tank having fun :)

Re: return home check in thread

I just rolled in the driveway about 10 mins ago, 4:50 am here. Drive home was a lot better, though i got stuck in stopped traffic 4 times. I left about noon from BG, then had to stop at the vette mueseum again cause the girlfriend forgot a damn shirt she HAD to have. Then made a stop at the Jim Beam distillery (which was lame since they are remodeling everything, and couldnt sell any booze since they are in a dry county, wtf.) Anyway made it back alright and again was well worth the drive, lots of memories made for sure. Def will be at every event here on out.

We made it back without any problems. Theresa drove quite a ways while I tuned. MAT temps were around 130 cruising....I'll need to check my IC pump today.

I know I pegged it at 120mph and faster more than once with the truck still wanting to pull and go faster.....probably saw 135mph or so.

In TN, a Gen2 Lightning rolled up on us, I came around and waited for him to make the move. He got out about half a length before I stomped on it and walked by him way to easy....and he was standing on it. Im told a huge cloud of black smoke rolled out from the truck when I jumped on it.

It was a much better drive back and up there... Hood did some tweaking on Code59 for me and we got the boost controller working right now (reason for the slow passes at the track). Still needs some more, but damn does it pull hard now.

I made it back safe as well. Took about 6 1/2 hrs to get home. I heard there was some car show in Louisville that sunday and saw tons of old hot rods driving the other way so that was kinda neat!

It was a nice turnout at Nats and I had a great time! As stated earlier, it was nice to put a face with the names on here!

We made it home at about 9:00. I saw all the old rods as well. Does anyone know if renz made it home yet? I know he was having problems just inside the border in West Virginia.
