Australia is much more strict than any other country I know of. If you look at some of the hot rodder boards, guys who are building their own cars have to have them inspected by a government officer to ensure that the builder didn't half ass it and that it's safe.

Well I have seen some vehicles that when they do this there's a chain under the dash were the steering wheel and the steering shaft both have a sprocket installed to make it work to keep eveything in the engine compartment stock but who knows how they got this working.

Yup, and the only RHD Syclone on the planet as far as I know. Started
out as a Saudi Sy, imported direct from Saudi to Aus. I've met the
owner, Lionel, a few times when he's come back to the UK to see some of
his family. He had to do a *lot* of work with the steering as he didnt
want the usual chain linkage setup. I've got photos of the mods. He
also did a lot of fabrication work on the dash as well. The conversion
was expensive in time only I think as Lionel did all the work himself
(Which is true credit to an owner who's willing to take on such a task).
There's no real match for him out in Surfers Paradise, Aus., and with
the truck being a 'celebrity' even the local Ferrari/Porsche crowd leave
him his own parking slot

I'm sure I'll be corrected but I thought there weren't any. There may have been 4 but pretty sure it's a typo. The bit that I just discovered was that a LHD car in Aus is illegal so I now need to figure out what the hell to do with mine.
Look at the prices of cars there as well... shipping, 10% import duty, 10% Goods and Sales Tax and then if the total value of your car, those taxes and the shipping fees is above $63,000, they hit you with Luxury Car tax which is 33%!! Pretty sure I won't have to pay that but the $10,000 for a RHD conversion is just as daunting.
I wonder if I'll ever get to enjoy this truck.
