Rockford Racecraft is trying to rip me off.

Re: Rockford Racecraft is trying to rip me off.

wow - this puts things in perspective.

My £200 loss from the transmission place or the £300 for the cladding damage pales in comparison to your trauma.

Good luck with it.

Alex - have you got all the machine tools now? I'd love to be able to do my own stuff.

Jeff - when are you starting JSM Performance engines? :D

Re: Rockford Racecraft is trying to rip me off.

Judging by post I would say you have a very cool head and some valid points. I hope it works out for both of you, granted you can't get back lost time.

All my points are valid. I did not lie and will not. Slander is not my thing, as it would hinder my case in moving forward. I tried to work this out with Reffett but it appears as though he has no intent on doing so. He won't even post on here to try and defend himself; I assume because he knows this is all true. I will continue to keep a cool head throughout this ordeal and judging from the post on this thread I think several of you agree, as do my local friends, many of whom I have taken a lot of flack from as they wanted me to go retrieve my truck over a year and a half ago. I didn't, but rather gave Reffett the benefit of the doubt and tried to compromise with his many excuses of family illnesses and the such. You are right, the lost time is not recoverable, but mark my words: My Syclone will live again.

Your a way better man than me. I would've left the cops out of it and collected a $6k beat down on anyone ripping me off. Then the next time he saw me he'd better have $8k or lose a fvcking limb!!

Re: Rockford Racecraft is trying to rip me off.

What about the over all shape/condition of the truck now? You mentioned that it was a low mile truck and stored out side all this time while it was at Rockford's place, is it developing rust now or anything going to be done about that whole mess as well? Just wondering

The only times Guy has EVER posted has been to defend himself against allegations of fraud.
:2cents:

Oh and I've seen 2 trucks out of RR at Nationals. Both with no engines. (To be fair, one of them did have an engine at a Nats, but it blew up,then showed up 8 years later, sans engine)

Re: Rockford Racecraft is trying to rip me off.

Last year I tried for about two months to get a hold of Rockford Racecraft. Glad no one answered my messages. Hope everything works out alright for you. Btw, if it was me he wouldn't be walking much anymore.

There is no rust on the body as far as I can tell, Though I missed the truck so bad and needed an excuse to drive up and check on it. I actually drove up there twice and clay barred the truck. A 250 mile drive, but I had been sent pictures of it sitting outside, and knew that I needed to put some protection on it. The second time I went to clean it up the front of the tonneau cover had become unstitched and was sagging down in the bed. A new cover is easy to find and not too expensive, but the parts, like the distributor and various engine components was then exposed to the weather and no longer useable. Reffett could have at least stored the parts inside, you would think. It seems as though he has no respect for the very vehicles that butter his bread.

Re: Rockford Racecraft is trying to rip me off.

There is some good support in Indiana. Let us know if you need advice/help on getting your truck back together.

Thanks guy's, darn I hate saying that word (GUY). I really do appreciate everyones support. This really seems to be a tight community. I just have to get enough motor to build. There is an older gentleman here in town that has an LS6 in his Ty. He also has a 17,000 mile Sy (original stock). Anyway, he offered me his Ty motor for a very good price. He also has another stock Ty motor that is just sitting on an engine stand, he bought it out of a Ty that had rolled. He even suggested to me that an LS motor, such as his would be very fun and he would share all his pain in that task. Not sure what to do with it yet. I wish Reffett would get on here and explain his side, or private message me in an attempt to work this out before it goes any further. I do THANK you all though.
GEEZZZ Reffett, all I want is what belongs to me.

Once again - good luck with whatever direction you head. My vote - drop in the stock engine, treat her nice, and it will last.

I do not have the machining tools, but I am not too worried about that. After I received my blocks/heads back from the machine shop, I inspected everything myself with telescoping gauges, calipers, etc. Consider it part of the pre-assembly process.

Once again, good luck, and don't let them get away with it!

Re: Rockford Racecraft is trying to rip me off.

If you need a 1 stop machine shop to go to, Bischoff Engine is in Indiana, near cincy though. They built 2 motors for me and both turned out great, no problems.

There is something to say for a stock syty also.

If you can't find all your parts let us know, we can track down some if not all you might be missing.

Re: Rockford Racecraft is trying to rip me off.

If you are even considering a v8, do yourself a favor. do it. I wish i had, cheaper and more reliable. A bunch of people dont like the v8 swaps cause they think it is not a syty anymore. But if it not a low mile super clean stock truck in every way, its not worth much. Sure someday it could be though, but it will need to be returned to stock for that. Hell buy the old mans stock motor and put it in storage, and someday bring it back. just have reliable fun till then.

Come on Mr. Reffett....this post has had over 2,100 views. I am sure there are a few that would like to hear your side, including me. Please....do share.

Re: Rockford Racecraft is trying to rip me off.

Okay guys, this is the cleanest RR post in a while.

Silly has held up to his statement. He's kept out of the thread.

There's good evidence presented by the customer. Now we are just waiting on the other side of the story.

If we truly want to see any of these types of posts get cleared up, and to keep them others from experiencing the same issues, we need to keep the useless stuff out of them. That way, it's easy for people to read the info presented.

Just wanted to keep everyone on the up and up. I still have not heard anything from Reffett. Not sure anyone has. I would again like to invite him to share his side of the story on this. Please Reffett, come out of hiding.

I suspect as any person would want to that your hoping this post will bring a resolution and your $6k back. I hate to tell you but I just highly doubt that will be happening.

Honestly I think you have 2 options.

#1 Kiss the $ goodbye and mark it up as a lesson learned. As I said before education costs money, some come with a degree others do not. Some are more expensive than others.

#2 Gather up your documents, paperwork, whatever you may have and proceed with another long drawn out stressful battle. In the end if your lucky you might get 10cents on the dollar.

Sorry just being honest here.
