Re: Rockford Racecraft is trying to rip me off.
Sorry, I havent posted an update lately. The truck is up and running. There is still plenty to do on it, always is. As some of you know, it currently has an LS1 motor with LS6 heads and intake. Sorry about that, wasnt my original plans. Would have much rather had the original 39000 mile motor in it, but as you know...I hired the wrong guy. The truck put down some, IMO, lame numbers. Dyno'd 366hp and 360tq at the rear wheels with a steady 12.8AFR, so a good safe tune. Could really use some headers, currently has truck manifolds, into a single 3 inch mandrel bent pipe, into the RPM SS catback. Thats the exhaust I had planned to use on the original motor, and kept it to try and keep cost down. I have put about 1200 miles on the truck since I picked it up, and without incident. Drove it to US41, ran the 1/4 three times, and drove it back home. Nothing broke. Only pulled a 1.95 sixty foot, with a 2900 stall. Needs more stall, on an LS web site, a suggestion of a YANK SS3600, came up. Any opinions on this? On the dyno the truck made power all the way to 6500 and showed no signs of dropping off. Revlimiter was set at 6700. Truck turns about 2100 @ 60mph cruising down the highway with a temp. of 165. Overall, I am pleased to have it back on the road and it is a smooth running truck. Though, not the original, Syclone, I'd planned. Again, sorry to have ruined (in many of your eyes) a fairly low miled Syclone. My boy loved being picked up in it, on his last day of school.
