Roof patch panels?

Well guys, yes Im one of the lucky Ty owners who gets to repair the rear roof rust. Ive heard of some guys getting a patch panel for this, but I don't have a clue as to where they are finding them. I was a Bodyman for six years and still do it on the side, but none of my suppliers could locate me one. I'll put a patch panel in and if I can't find one, I'll just slap a new roof skin on it. I can get a GM skin for $290 my cost and its gravy to change (I've replaced several skins). Also I was wondering who knows for sure as to why these trucks are rotting in this point? There must be a valley or something holding moisture behind there. Mine had a small blister spot there when I bought it and I thought it was just an area where the paint was nicked and got moisture underneith, but I'm seeing more and more blazers where Its rusting from behind. Thanks guys!

I had my roof replaced. At the time, I ordered "the last GM roof in the system." Of course, you could always go to a junk-yard in the south and cut the portion of roof you need.

The bolts that hold the window hinges on are where the water gets in.

Re: Roof patch panels?

I went ahead and call the GM hub in Ohio and they have one on the way. I also have a new tailgate on the way too. I'm trying to get the whole trucks body back mint so I can sell for a low miles ty.

Re: Roof patch panels?

Easy money!! Just cut at the factory rear seams and behind the roof's ribs, very simple.
