Vince, you have to understand the SyTy motor isnt really anything special, it's a standard 4.3 Truck motor with better main caps and low compression pistons. The camshaft is THE same one outta the manure-hauling, tree-stump-pulling stock motor! It only has .357" lift on the intake and like .390" on the exhaust. This is one of the weakest cams you'll ever find. Thus the motor only spins to 4500. Peak Horse Power is rated at 4400. That's it!! If you are one of these guys who thinks that winding a car way past it's power band will make it faster, you should think again

My truck falls on its FACE after 4500 RPM. I ran 12.2 @ 108 and I tried to keep it under 4500 (it hit 4650 at the top of 2nd because the shift happens so quick). So in summary I don't think you have anything to worry about until you do a built motor with heads and cam, then you will want to rev it higher. If your tranny is shifting it automatically at 4500 then its doing exactly what it should!
